Uhhh...
Am I missing something?
Edit: What country are you from?
If I'm not mistaken they've both been on Steam for quite some time now, at least for US customers.

You mean "are becoming Steamworks". Those games have been Steam for quite a while now.

Was actually already mentioned, but TC can't seem to be bothered to fix the title or their link.

Huh.. Interesting..

I wonder if it's "just cause" or if there's another reason e.g. with GfWL even though Microsoft implies that they still intend to support it.

Probably someone at Capcom decided to just go ahead and get rid of GfWL once they set course for that (and started with SSF 4). The fact that Microsoft can't make their mind up doesn't make staying on GfWL a better idea than it was before.

a lot of people on this planet cant use gfwl. microshaft is just being racist on non-firstworld countries.

so, more sales probably is the reason for their change of mind...

I think the only reason MS kept GFWL alive is because too many games hadn't yet been modified to move away from the service. They kept it on life support for the time being, allowing companies to complete their migration to another service.

Steamworks is a DRM, and right now Dead Rising 3 and Resident Evil 5 are using GFWL.

Poor Germany, you got censorship issues as bad as Australia.

Still, wait and see, might be a good surprise.

He is in Germany, where censorship is common for certain games, like stuff with zombies.

I'm german and I got both games and many more banned ones on steam. just cause a game isnt on german store doesn't mean you can get it.

trading is magic ;)

I'm aware you can still get around such stuff, I'm just pointing out to the topic creator that GfWL wasn't the problem there.

Meh, I'm not 100% sure. I googled a bit and read that Capcom did something to prevent starting the game (unless you use a proxy every time you want to play it). So the issue wasn't with GfWL. Let's just hope for the best.

will that mean there will be achievements and or trading cards?

The GfWL achievements will likely be moved over, as for cards, unknown. Being GFWL never stopped that though, so doubtful.
