EDIT: After seeing the apology LostSoulVL posted about, I'm willing to give them another shot. However, I'm waiting for additional hints. Their bundles have dropped in quality over the years.

Humble was the first bundle site and has always stood above the rest in terms of overall quality of the games. Groupees has never been equal, though I will say they were significantly closer when they first started out. Nowadays they are just am empty dried-up husk of what once was.

Strongly agree. I always cringe when people say 'Humble is going south' when there's no contender at all.
Fanatical is placed 2nd in my book. IG is the 3rd due to cheap bundles and sometimes good like the recent Point and Click but it's so distant.

Same. HB has unrivaled quality even if it repeats some games ; Fanatical has good but usually niche bundles (aimed at special audiences, like hog bundle, simulator, etc) in good quality, while most of IG's new, but low quality stuff. Mostly the good ones are being kept hostage one by one amongst trash - and then once in a blue moon happens a Deadalic bundle :D

That's pretty much my assessment as well. Though occasionally Bundle Stars/Fanatical has had some good bundles that I wouldn't consider niche -- mainly stuff in the Killer, Nemesis, or even Indie Legends line.
Something else also occurred to me as today's Red Solstice giveaway from Humble got me thinking. Humble has done game giveaways for a long time and especially more frequently in recent months. Indie Gala has also done giveaways pretty regularly for a long time. Bundle Stars/Fanatical has also done some here and there on occasion. Now Groupees on the other hand...... not really. It's the kind of thing that earns you brownie points with people and personally it does speak to me and say a little something.
edit: now that I think of it I believe Groupees actually did give away one small bundle before (of junk to be honest)....... once

Their AWITW bundle (music) at the beginning of january had a free tier, but I guess music is not enough to win the people :D
+ I agree about the killer-legends-nemesis bundles. They are often HB quality, and most of their bundles were pretty good. ^^

Agreed. And honestly, most of the music on Groupees is a waste of time unless you're really into the whole EDM thing (which I'm not...sorry, I like musicians playing actual instruments; people can like whatever they want, but I find it impersonal and cold and unlikely they're ever going to win me over). Plus, you can honestly find just as good of stuff for free...so many musicians are just trying to get people to listen to their stuff. I don't find the music that Groupees features to have any real monetary value.
I've listened to a bit of it when it's packaged with a game bundle that I've bought, but I have yet to find even a single song that I'd want to invest the time to listen to more than once or to spend time going deeper into that musician's catalog. That may sound kind of cold, but I'm a musician as well, so I can pretty quickly assess interesting/original songwriting or playing vs. "I like music and got some music software and a PC and a basic keyboard and now I'm slapping out a bunch of songs that are derivative of stuff that I like." And most of the stuff on Groupees is unfortunately the latter. If I found some original, interesting stuff on there, I'd be more than happy to support those artists.(I spend a lot of money annually on music :) ).

each has their own traits, Fantical(former Bundle stars) has pretty decent bundles but usually about 3-4 bucks. IG tends to vary but when they do good, they do great (they made a bundle where I wanted every game in it, no small feat)
Groupees was up to this point mainly something you got for greenlight games (and the resulting keys) with a few gems, but with Greenlight basically dead, well... it just leave a mix of stuff. People tend to gamble with pre-order because more often than not these days, their bundles aren't worth normal price.

Lulz they give the impression that they are trying to blame others. How about not selling something before you have the keys for it? Or for that matter not taking people's money by selling them on a 12-month 10-bundle Be Mine subscription when you couldn't even come close to meeting the deadline. Oh that's right, you are the only site to continue pulling this blind preorder nonsense and then deliver shovelware. Hopefully one day people will wake up, get over their fomo addiction, and realize that it's not worth dealing with these clowns and stop ordering from them.

I was the asshole that kind of kickstarted that conversation and I truly believe Jonny's response.
Cyatica or whatever he's called is the jerk here. He's the one who responded to the Housewife being in a "Casual" gaming bundle with "Oh well, we have to make money" and seems to generally just been an arse about screwing over customers for a buck.
The site is a husk of its former self and we can all see that. Instead of actively working towards fixing that, it seems most of Groupees' staff either vanished or are just become so apathetic that they will put together a bundle of live snakes that pop out of your Blu-Ray drive if it gets them a dollar.
Actually, having live snakes fly out at me would be more action packed and exciting than anything in their bundles over the last half year. They should do that.

I believe it's Cyanic and besides Jonny is the head honcho there so he is still responsible for everything that goes on. Frankly I don't trust anything that comes out of anyone's mouth there and haven't for years.

Of course, there are many issues with Groupees.

I can't say the x-mas bundle was great but I did get a couple of wishlist games. But this is the first time I've noticed some major decline. I'm actually rather glad for the pre-order sort of thing as well some of the current bunch post-release isn't quite worth the asking price compared to the pre-order one.

I know I've seen this character too, but I don't think it's on my wishlist. I'm 99% certain it's not Pushcat. Hazier than hazy recollections: I'm thinking some sort of alien ninja type dude -- similar to Disney's Stich or Invader Zim. I think the things on the left are the ends of katana blades or a bandana, and the "megaphone" is a gun. It's monochromatic purple because it's mostly a silhouette shot. Mid-2000s, 2D animated-ish (not pixel art). If I remember rightly, not a very notable game, but probably not a bad one either (I don't think I've actually played it and I don't remember what the gameplay actually is).
Or I could be way off...
But also, +1 to the already-guessed Starship Titanic. Definitely that one for the butler guy (played the game long ago, and immediately recognized the character).

You're right, there is no thread for it yet, I think mainly because they don't deliver Steam keys together with the DRM-Free versions of the games. SteamGifts usually has threads for Steam-only bundles, but I can sure make a quick one for this.
I didn't do so until now because I was afraid that a thread like that would mislead people into thinking it's a Steam bundle (despite the big big warnings that the thread would have). People also seem to be very disapproving of this bundle.
What's your / everyone's opinion about this?

I thought the fact that it wasn't steam keys may have been a reason it wasn't posted. Personally a PC game deal is just that, no matter how it's distributed (as long as it's from a legit site). If it were a Ubisoft only bundle would it be posted? Or were GOG bundles ever posted in the past? I don't know... All that being said it's one of the better Groupees bundles in a long time ;) Not that that's saying a lot....

In terms of Groupees, a lot of people aren't preordering or buying their bundles nowadays. I've had a lot of success trading keys that were unbundled and seemed like crummy games for ones I actually wanted. So if it's, say, a $2 bundle (like most are for preorder), and Starship was $1.49 at lowest, you're basically paying $0.51 more for a bunch of keys that are ones you want at best, and probably good trade fodder at worst. That's how I see it, anyway. I'll be preordering for sure, this is a game I never heard of and I want it! =P
