Why are wishlists so important to indie devs? (w/ Chris Zukowski)
TLDW 4:10min mark
It's based on amount of wishlist's a game has. If a Dev has a game in EA, and that said game has reaches a threshold of about 7k wishlists but ideally 10k, using the pareto principle or 80/20 rule, this will translate to roughly ~ 20% of the game being bought in an ideal situation.
If a game also goes out of EA with a discount, those who have added a EA game to their wishlist, will in turn will generate an email about a potential sale being sent and steam in turn will try to promote the games.
The only thing that will be affected that is based on your browsing history is your Discovery Queue, which is how Devs gain potential Wishlists.

Just wondering if the sections of "New & Trending" and "Popular Upcoming" on Steam's main page based on my history.
It seems like a lot of the games there recently have sexual content and this makes me wonder about the recent game pages I browsed.
