I know, I gifted one of my keys to someone, then I gave one away just now for whoever wants to take it. Oh, well...

How was Humble supposed to be able to predict that the Jotun devs would give away the game for free six months after they put it in the monthly?

I didn't claim that they could, but it doesn't change the truth of my statement. When people see stuff like this it affects their perception and undermines trust in your business model, even if there is no way that you could have predicted or prevented it. Which I'm not sure I entirely buy anyway because I don't see why it couldn't be within the realm of possibility to make certain conditions a part of the bundle agreement/contract to protect the efficacy of the premium product you are trying to sell people on. Being in the position that they are in, I'd like to think that Humble has some clout to work with. What they absolutely could have controlled though is re-bundling both Jotun and Vermintide (the early reveal/teaser to hook people no less) only 60 days later in Jumbo 8 for half the price. This being free now is just icing on the cake.

Since you are not getting gifts or keys that can be given away later, they shouldn't add this to the list of non-giftable games here.

I would wait for a week or more, to prevent people who forgot to sync their Steamgifts to enter and you having to re-roll the winner multiple times.

I guess game being in a bundle is lowering significantly it's gray market price, thus significantly lowering publisher's income through official channels forever.
Jotun was not only present in HBM but also was bundled again in Jumbo bundle, Tier 1(1$) or 2(5-6$). Games were quite decent. Thus it was possible for resellers to buy a few fine games for price of about 1$ each (and who knows how many copies of the bundle) and then flood with them the market after bundle ended.
Probably normal selling income reduced so much that it wasn't a hard decision to set this generous giveaway. In this light it is not games appearing in HB getting suddenly given away for free/cheap, but the other way around: this is happening regularly exactly because game was in a bundle.
Have no idea how realistic is all this but maths looks about right, isn't it?

Played the first level. The boss looked like a joke until I hit him 3 times and reached me. Single hit and I was dead. I thought It was a "tutorial" level and I was messing around losing health. I expect the unexpected with this one after that. Nice game.
