That looks like a fascinating read. I'll finish it tomorrow to reply properly but sure, why not? Like they say, our own civilization probably won't be leaving any easily identifiable trace millions of years from now (if the planet is still here) so the lack of evidence is not enough to say we were the first, right?

We are not the first and we won't be last one too. we are just passing by :)

I also believe in UFO (or at least in some secret army programs that looks like how we imagine UFO) because I also saw it as kid, just general look as it how it looks in movies and just for few sec, I was scared so I run away home.
As for civilizastion, maybe, it is not impossible, and quite intersting read.

I don't believe in what cannot be proved, but I also cannot deny the fact that what cannot be proved is a possibility.
It's not entirely impossible to consider that there may have been intelligent life form on Earth a looooong long time ago, to the point where no (or nearly no) trace remain. To me, it's not a "conspiracy theory" as it's not a conspiracy, just something we have no knowledge of at this point in time - Heck, maybe ever. To be a conspiracy, wouldn't it need to be something that is known but hidden from the public?

It's a delightful thought experiment? But there's not enough presented in the article to give it any credibility beyond that. Would make a damn good tv series though!

Very interesting read. It reminded me of this, a research paper about how to mark nuclear waste deposits so that people who'll live like 5000 years in the future (who would probably have vastly different languages an civilizations than those we have now) would be able to identify them, in order to not settle them. This paper completely changed my outlook on the concept of a civilization standing the test of time.

It's an interesting read, with a somewhat misleading title.
There were probably no civ but us, here on the good ol earth. But it's interesting to note the data cited on the article, and several other mind stimulating speculations, like: We don't know almost anything about the early precambrian. Almost 1 billion years prior our first known fossil (primitive bacteria relatives) There is plenty of time for speculative fiction :)

I think it’s far more likely that we have peaked to this level of civilization several times previously.

there have always been crudely drawn genetalia and pooly written phone numbers on toilet walls. especially when the dinosaurs were alive. imagine a t-rex trying to write the words "for a meaty time, be here at the extinction level event" with those tiny, non thumbed forearms - THE CRAYON MUST HAVE BEEN HUGE!!!

So I stumbled across this fascinating article on a recommended tab.
After reading it, I think the theory might not be too far fetched.
But then again, I also believe in the theory of Atlantis and UFO's (since I know I saw one once as a kid) and the lost city of Atlanta.
So what do any of you fellow conspiracy theorists think?
