EGS doesn't normally give out the complete game right. Just the base game.
I am also interested in that dlc since it is not available on the Xbox One version where I have the base game + season pass.

No. Sony bought the exclusive rights to the Dreadful Crimes dlc on AC syndicate so I couldn't access it on my Xbox One. Now I can just buy and play it on PC instead(released on this platform recently but not on Xbox One) now that I got the game for free from the EGS and will claim it on Uplay instead.
I think even the season pass on PC doesn't include the Dreadful Crimes dlc. You need to buy it separately.

Yep ,all sales for that dlc are linked to Ubisoft's payment system.
No more finding a cheap key from reseller sites.
It does go on sale occasionally for about £1.75.
I can never get it as my debit card is UK only payments.
I think Green man gaming had it but not for UK customers ,well ,last time i checked anyway.

Though it's full price atmo and payment is via that Ubisoft Connect so it's a bit pointless.
I'm hoping that dam Ubisoft Connect loses them sales and they go back to offering game keys.

Cool. They choose the right AC game to giveaway for me. It is the only one I have missing on PC because I already have the Complete AC Syndicate game on Xbox One except for one missing dlc. This will complete my AC Uplay PC collection and will allow me to play the Dreadfall Crimes dlc which is only available on PS4 and PC and not on my Xbox One X copy.

It also was given out with Games with Gold on Xbox One but I prefer the PC version which includes a dlc not available on Xbox One, so I am happy to get it for free on EGS and by extension on Uplay.

No. After claiming it on the EGS, you can just download and play the game on Uplay where it is automatically listed.

I'm guessing you are suspicious that the displayed link text is not where the link will take you. It's easy to verify where that link is actually going by hovering your mouse pointer over it and then look at the lower-left part of the browser window (at least for chrome and firefox, but any sane browser will have some way to show you the true link destination). The rest is basic internet knowledge, in this case how to interpret the different parts of a URL.
So here the displayed text is indeed the same as the true link destination, and wether epicgames.com is a malignant website is a debate for another thread. :)

in usa or eu maybe .. asia no mate . we play here only cracked ver of games cause we cant effort to pay for offline-story games
so we have to play these game with low fps - no update no optimizing bunch of them never going to cracked so we miss them
also its really nice for game collectors !! who dont want to have all the games free !!! doesnt matter 5 or 10 years old as long as we dont pay its cool
why should i pay a game price equals to a tv ! price dude ? not everyone can buy games
