-1, I'd rather take a free mouse pad that may be "ugly" over a flashy one without any other benefits. Especially when you don't have extra money to throw around on non-essential items (like a flashy mouse pad).

Not that I use a mousepad*, but my hi-res laser mouse, comfortable keyboard, high-speed printer, comfortable executive reclining chair and second monitor have all paid for themselves. Not everyone just uses their computer for gaming and wanking bucko.

*Can't understand why anyone needs a cheap mousepad in this day and age. Has anyone here seriously still got a mouse with a ball in it?

Personally I don't stare at my mouse pad. I put my mouse and my wrist on it. Everythings pretty much covered by the time I start USING the mat.
Nothing wrong with an ugly mat, as long as its of quality.

I remember a couple years ago or so, there was a chinese site that was letting people get free mousepads with whatever image they wanted on one. I got one of those, good deal. This deal isn't as good, but it's free, so it's really hard to complain.
