Seems to be running poorly in Windows 8, Did a few INI fixes and it seems to work a lot better. Still randomly hangs though.

There is also THIS for playing online with other players!

And to make it run smooth add this at "[Video]" in RA2.ini and in RA2MD.ini files after you run the game once :
VideoBackBuffer=no

you can also change the resolution to 1920x1980 from those ini files

While you're there, changing ScreenWidth and ScreenHeight to your monitors native resolution not only makes the game look better, but on several occassions actually improved stability.
