id like to be able to add people on here, see what contests they are entering and to be able to pm them ect.

can you im players when they are offline? no can you send private msgs? no can you see what contests they have entered and seen what they have won? no?

I disagree to a certain extent because you might just end up with people PMing giveaway sponsors, asking for free games.

I see the need for PM. It's not too personal like Steam Friend and limited to only one website.

To prevent people PM sponsors for free games, mods could make that a ban-able offense.

Either way you will have people asking for free games, with no relation the the PM system. They come on here, look at 'TOP SPONSORS' stats, add them on steam, and beg.

I think we should have the PM system because it would make things somewhat simpler in certain aspects. This way you can send messages back and forth without having to go through your Steam friends list (add them, wait for them to add you.. if they add you.. and then talk). Also you won't just have someone on your Steam friends list whom your going to delete 3 seconds later after you or he has sent the game over.

the steam group has a chatroom, why not use that? you can also request a personal chat on steam with anyone in the group
