Technically it only took me 26 days but my first 4 wins weren't really that amazing in terms of odds (1000 copy giveaway, 15000 copy giveaway and then The Ship and Dota 2 back when they got spammed a million times). My first normal win was 5 months after I joined.

I got my first win about 3 months after joining, others have had no wins for 2 years. It's just luck, like buying lottery tickets.
Giving away games yourself also allows you to level up and enter more giveaways that are restricted to lvl 1+ users.
