When the creator tried to send the game for me as a gift, Steam denied it for region differences in the price.. What should be done now? :(

I don't think there is anything that you can do.

The creator of the giveaway however can get you the game through some other way (eg. a key from a 3rd party site). They can also ask the giveaway to be re-rolled, which will choose a different winner.

I guess they could also get you a digital Steam gift card so you can activate it on your account and but the game yourself, but that requires an amount of trust on your side (and it could be more expensive for the creator).

Well, since the creator just apologized and didn't mention nothing about an alternative solution, I guess I'll just let it go. Should I ask to re-roll or delete?

I would ask the creator for a replacement in any way, if he can't give you, you can choose to accept a deletion, or just ask for a deletion right away if you are fine with that.

I'm not that kind of person, if this solution didn't come from him I think it's better to just let it go for this time

It's up to you.

You can either ask the creator to give you the game somehow, and mark it as not received if he won't, or agree to a re-roll or deletion. I think you'd need to write a comment on the giveaway page so mods can see it.

The creator gave another key as apologize, it didn't need me to talk about it :)

Was the key for the same game as you won?

No, but it's equally nice, (better, actually). It would be a problem to mark as Received?

Yes, if you got any other game than what you won, don't mark as received!
Only thing you can do now is either mark as not received but that would be mean since he did give you something else, or state in the giveaway that you agree with a deletion and let him/her ask support to delete the giveaway.

The creator was very nice, I would never mark as Not Received. I already stated at the giveway that I agree with deletion and he already talked to support to delete it (but didn't get an answer yet)

Then you did well ^^
If you mark as received while you didn't receive it, you can get in trouble here so that is never a good idea no matter how nice you try to be so this way is the best way of doing and nice of him/her to give you another game as compensation!

As I replied to Filipi. It's not possible to re-roll such giveaway, as new winner may run into the same issue you did.

Only option is to either deliver game winner can accept, mark as not received or if you want - give permission for deletion. Always in this order.

A giveaway that is denied for region reasons can't be re-rolled since high chance the next winner will have the same issue!

In this case, differences in region prices, but I get what you're saying

They can also ask the giveaway to be re-rolled, which will choose a different winner.

Region locked giveaways with improper restrictions can't be re-rolled, as new winner may end up with the same issue.

It is up to you to decide what to do :) You can demand a game and if won't get it - mark it as not received, or you can be polite and nice and agree to the deletion of the giveaway. I personally will always go with a second option.

you can be polite and nice and agree to the deletion of the giveaway.

You can be polite and ask for what creator promised in the giveaway. Or rightfully leave feedback that there was problem with gift delivery, so there is not received feedback. Not agreeing on deletion is not impolite. It just shows that creator made a mistake. Which can happen.

But when creators keep asking or "forcing" users into deletions, to cover their duplicate keys or not checking proper region locks - it's their negligence. Not winner being "impolite" by not allowing them to always hide their mistakes.

You are right. It's just that I'm too spoiled by good people who don't want evil and don't try to cheat the system :) So far I haven't personally faced a situation, when it look like giveaway creator was doing something wrong intentionally.

Just leave a comment that you allow the giveaway to be deleted / rerolled & move on ¯_(ツ)_/¯
If after a couple of weeks the distribution does not disappear from your wins list , set "not received"

rerolled

Those can't be re-rolled

Just leave a comment that you allow the giveaway to be deleted

Or leave not received feedback, like it should be done by default. Deletions are something extra when winner gives permission. Not automatic action and the default.

In this case, I gave permission to the creator to delete the GA (and he tried contact with support to do it) and he offered me later another game as apologize for the problem. What to do then? I let the GA unmarked and wait for deletion?

If it's more than 7 days after GA is over you can mark as not received, so you can enter in more giveaways for the same game. When we accept deletion ticket this not received feedback will be removed from their account.

If it's less than 7 days then all you can do is wait.

Also like maru said don't accept different game and mark as received. It can lead to suspension.

What should I do If I win a game that cannot be activated in my region, or if I receive a gift or key that does not match the game I won?
You should contact the giveaway creator to return the gift, and to inform them of the situation. If the giveaway creator is able to provide you with a replacement gift or key for the same game that can be activated in your region, then you should mark the gift as "Received". In all other cases, the gift should be marked as "Not Received". When marking a gift as "Not Received" it's recommended that you leave an explanation in the giveaway comments as a reference for both the giveaway creator and our support team. If the giveaway creator is not able to provide a replacement gift or key, they may ask your permission to delete the giveaway.

If he's from a expensive region, you could trade an csgo item for the value of the game in your region and you buy it with that wallet, but if he's from a cheaper region it will be more expensive to him and maybe he won't be able to afford it.

Yeah, probably its more cheap there.. Despite its a game I wishlisted, I'll just let it go, but I have to say it's sad that this happens in the first GA I won ever

This will add Valve 15% overhead in tax for transaction

If there is a problem due to regional pricing, it's easier to just gift someone money through Steam Wallet digital cards. It's possible to send a custom amount, enough to allow the winner to buy the game in their region. Only limit is it's not possible to convert existing wallet funds into digital card, it must be new purchase with CC.

a lot of people genuinely don't know about this restriction from steam so I wouldn't assume malice in creator's decisions, unfortunate that it happened. but if you personally don't have an issue with it just being deleted then so be it

I wonder what the chance is to win a game, I havent won a game yet and tbh i doubt I will there is sooo many people here

Well, the chances are small, indeed.. I simply enter here regularly and enter the GAs.. Yesterday I won another one. Obviously, the less the entries in that GA when the time is ending, more are your chances. :)

As he said the more entries a giveaway has, the lower your chance to win. I suggest Unlucky7 group.
