Hello everyone,

I'm going to try, I think every Saturday, to post links to games that will be released the following week and that I think are interesting and original.

The goal here isn't to put up AAA games, but rather less "popular" ones, so that you can, i hope, discover some nuggets each week.
If I'm lucky enough to received the game from the publisher, I'll add the link to my video to show you a bit of the gameplay.

I can also miss some nice games, so don't hesitate to share the ones that attract you the most ;)

I'm adding a poll to the topic to see if many of you are interested.
Be honest, if it doesn't interest many people, don't let me do this for nothing :)

I hope you enjoy this topic, and I'll start right away with next week's games, to be followed in the replies below.

Really good game. I was a bit afraid of the very peculiar graphics at first, but in the end it fits in well.

A major problem, however, is the need to play with a controller, as the keyboard keys are completely incoherent and there are no options for customizing them.

Yeah I was too but after a bit, just watching your video, it feels like you're watching a cartoon and it works.

I play with a controller as much as I can anyway. Helps me use different configurations to spare my hands.
Shame they didn't think the controls through though. Customizing control keys really should be mandatory in any game at this point.

I was on vacation and I knew there were game releases that I missed!

Wheel World looks really good to me. One of the things I don't like about Descenders and Lonely Mountains is that they are so... well, lonely. It's just me and my bike against the world. The actual racing in Wheel World is appealing, not to mention the exploration and the really interesting graphics.

I guess the release of Animal Shelter 2 means that I should finally play the original. :D

I just released a video review of Animal Shelter 2. I also played the first one.
I would say that the main problem with the series is the lack of animal variety. There are only three in the first game, including one in a DLC.
Not the best simulator but... cute cat, cute dog :D

Wheel World has an artistic direction that really appeals to me, even though I'm not a big fan of basic racing games. But there's something zen about it, so I'm going to follow it very closely.

Got a mail from Herdling team today! Happy me

Oooh nice! looking forward to your gameplay.

I manage to be absorbed by games whether in 1st or 3rd person... can't explain!

I used to be way better with first person perspective but since my eyesight has started to degrade (not badly really but it has come with bouts of vertigo) I often get seasick in first person games. When they are well made, I am fine but the tendency these days is to make everything look very deformed I dunno. The trailer for Caravanners made me nauseous in parts already. Maybe the FOV setting will help.

It's the kind of thing I don't think about, I admit. Adjusting the FOV may help, maybe also reduce motion blur.
But I can see why you're unsure about this kind of title.

I get a bit of motion sickness in first person games as well -- Green Hell comes to mind. The FOV settings are a huge help for me.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Thankfully FOV settings are becoming pretty standard these days. I don't think I would have been able to play Prey or Metro Exodus without changing the FOV.
Still, I don't get games that restrict the gameplay to first person when they do have to create full models for characters anyway due to multiplayer/co-op modes.

Yeah FOV was key for me to play Green Hell, now I love that game.

I find that I enjoy 1st person most of the time, but I agree with you, I do not like artificial restrictions. If there is a player model, there should be an option for 3rd person.
