actually, you have no idea what you're talking about. the i7-3770K has consistently outperformed AMD's finest 8 core devices, and the i7 extreme editions even moreso.

Don't forget the Min Frame.
But maybe, once PS4 is released, we'll see more than 4 cores used.

Just to completely ignore all that for a moment I will ask another important question here that should also be considered: Just how many games are actually optimized for or take real advantage of 2 or 4 cores, let alone 6 or 8?

meh - even if AMD has better performance (which I doubt when comparing overall) it is only temporary Intel will pull ahead and then AMD will match it or surpass it and Intel will come back with something more, etc. Call me a fanboy if you want, but I'm just sold on Intel CPUs same way as I'm sold on Nvidia GPUs - I don't consider myself a fanboy but I think they're better overall and I will stick with 'em - I'm not throwing rocks at AMD or ATI they do have some impressive stuff but there can be only one and for me it's Intel and Nvidia... and PlayStation... and Energizer... and Droid... and I'm gonna stfu now

I seriously doubt you even know what you're saying. AMD may be cheap, but they got not as much performance as Intel. Intel is where the performance's at.
