Anyone else noticing long lag/load times when navigating in the Steam desktop app, especially when switching between sections (eg from Store to Library) since the latest update?

Yup, activating keys also. IIRC same problem was few months ago for people with big libraries, probably same crap came again with last update.

Yes, exactly--I noticed it after key activation, and going back and forth between library games and their store pages.

+1 for activating keys. I noticed this problem since the May 4th update. The problem is like this.

Problem persists on both my Windows 10 OSes (host and Virtual Machine) and resetting Steam Client does not solve the problem. Sent a few codes to a friend and he didn't have such problem, but he has a small library (~50 games).

I was checking out Reddit but didn't see anyone else posting similar problems, so I was not able to determine if this is a global issue or not.

Thanks for that link (here and below). I hadn't seen anything on Reddit either, which is usually on top of problems like this. It seems very likely then that might be related to library size.

+1, just had 2 crashes today, because window became unactive after I activated won keys.

No, but rather the regular May 4th update (built on Apr. 29th 2016)

It's happen in beta before this, and it maybe still didn't fix.

It can be tested by just hover "Library" tab after adding a new game (or idling a long time).

Yes. Since the last stable update. And Ctrl-F not working half the times.

It's happening to me all the time. For a year.
Oh, and sometimes Steam just crashes while I'm playing a game, which makes some games crash as well. Just brilliant.

This may be a different problem than the one caused by the update...

It's the same problem, but the recent update only made it worse.

Same here. After activating keys Steam hogs up one core and hangs for 20-30 seconds.

If you make store purchases to add games there may also be lags, just happened to me also. So I might be changing the wording to "adding any Steam game" to include both key activation and completed store purchase (adding non-Steam shortcut doesn't cause the problem for me yet).

yes, scrolling the library takes up the processing power of one whole cpu core and feels very laggy

Yeah, it either lags a lot while switching tabs, or it fails to load the content.
But you have to remember, that Steam client is based on Chromium, so it has the exact same problems.

Activating keys is slow. It was like that awhile back too.

New beta seems to have fixed it. Just activated two keys and the client wasn't freezing.

Same for me; it became laggy after the last update. Just opening the Library lags it.
