That's actually a lot of time for 2 hours, you can do a lot in 2 hours in a survival game and if you can't, it's not a very good survival game(it's either dragged out a lot or just very lack-luster).

Can't agree having Don't starve or Rust in mind, a lot of most important content in these demands some time, even more if you'll fail (and die) but it's only opinion, maybe theres some examples when you actually finish a big part of survival game by surviving 2 hours ;P

Both Don't Starve and Rust are survival games where progress is accomplished over a long period of time because for the most part you're doing the same things over and over to figure out what to do unless you already know what to do in the first place. That's more or less padding via lack of information (e.g. not knowing how to craft certain items in a game, so you spend an hour alone trying to figure out a few items on your own). Rust is also more about the RP-open-world aspect, and I also know for a fact that it's heavily crippled by players grouping up with friends and making life hell for new players, which makes it padded even more so with more deaths, less progress, etc. Rust has gotten lots of criticism in the past. On the other hand, Don't Starve is just straight up difficult and requires you to do a lot more in a shorter amount of time.
DayZ doesn't solve anything because it's more like an Arma RP server, or a GMod-like zombie survival game. People just screw around the whole time and RP for the majority of it. I also don't know what you mean by "pattern"? I like slower survival games, but I also acknowledge that they're not very good if the slower pace takes away from the game, which almost all slower survival games I've played do, in-fact, take away from it because there's no actual reason for it to be slower paced aside from lack of content(certain survival games do that).
Also games like Rust are very different to, say, The Long Dark or Project Zomboid, where it's less about building up a base by collecting resources(7 days is very much this, Don't Starve is some-what) and more about moving around and surviving as long as you can in actual survival situations rather than sustaining yourself with a base.

By 'pattern' I mean survival games that doesn't provide much more content with more playtime, I have to say that I'm not a fan of Dayz or Rust, I can agree with most of your comment about how these survival works :) but still after playing less than 2 hours of these games I would not be able to create valuable opinion about them, it's just not enough anyway, I didn't like Rust for the first hour (I was dying mostly) then it was better, I liked DayZ at the first hour then after some time I knew it's not worth IMO any more time from me. Maybe it's just my personal feeling about these games.

There's a two week limit as well, even on inventory gifts.
In the beginning they went beyond that a bit, but I tried returning an item after 16 days recently, and it was denied.

In my opinion, PZ is definitely worth having a look into. It's come a long way and fortunately, updates didn't seem to break any of my saves up to now. Also, the developers appear to actually give a shit about what players think and suggest. Reported balancing issues have been taken care of pretty swiftly, compared to other Early Access titles.
I also enjoy Darkwood a lot. However, there seem to have been two major updates in the last two weeks, and I didn't find the time to check its current status yet.
However, reading my post, please bear in mind that I'm just an idiot who likes Early Access survival games on Steam.

Yeah, Planet Explorers left EA too early but they seem to update it so it doesnt seem to matter is it in EA or not. Maybe devs are happy with the state of the game and just plan to not have any other overhauls(like the switch from Unity 4 to 5 IIRC) and build on this.

Project Zomboid just has a slow and extremely long history. I bought it a few years ago but it's been very slow in development. It's sad in a way but it's only because they are very slow in their updating, albeit they definitely care about the game a lot.
