Hi, I was wondering if you would have RPGs to advise me. Currently I have :

♦ Beyond Divinity, Divine Divinity & Divinity 2
♦ Dragon Age : Origins
♦ Shadowrun Returns, Shadowrun HongKong & Shadowrun Dragonfall
♦ The Red Solstice
♦ The Witcher & The Witcher 2
♦ Trillion : God of Destruction
♦ Fairy Fencer F
♦ Hyperdimension Neptunia Re:Birth 1, Hyperdimension Neptunia Re:Birth 2, Hyperdimension Neptunia Re:Birth 3

I play a little bit of everything ... I took advantage of the sales to go a little more towards the J-RPG (hoping not to be mistaken ...), but I would like to have some tracks everywhere for the future, see what titles I could turn to. I really enjoyed Dragon Age and Shadowrun, I still have to test The Witcher and the other titles. thank you in advance.

(Sorry for my mistakes, I'm a francophone player and I still have a hard time writing ^^")

Final Fantasy IX is really good too, I was put off y the visual design of it for some time (coming from VII and VIII) but in the end, I think it is easily one of the best FFs.

Well, it's good but it has some problems i think. I made a review of it on my Steam account.

I wouldn't call the Bethesda games (Fallout, Elder Scrolls) first-person, as I play them all on third person myself but to each their own. xD

You ever played Two Worlds I? I thought it was horrible but I liked the second one.

I find the third person of Gamebryo a bit awful since your character looks like is floating on the terrain. Also the animation looks clunky. Not much players use third person in these games.

I finished Two Worlds I on XBOX 360, it's bad (looks like run on 20 fps). The PC version is much better. The game can be strange and difficult at first, but is not that bad if you give it a chance.

Yea I actually tried TW I on the 360 first as well, maybe I should try it on PC sometime to give it a fair shot.

For J-RPGs, I suggest Tales of Berseria if you prefer action combat over turn-based. Very good game.

If you enjoy RPG with tons of story, TONS of text to read, Planescape: Torment is one of the best RPGs out there. It is not super smart on combat, but the setting, the characters and the story are superb.

Cheers!

I'm surprised that no one has suggested the Ys or the Trails series to you. I love them both, especially the latter. They're awesome!

From the newer ones ATOM RPG that has been named by many as new incarnation of original Fallout yet ii's not just a copy of Fallout – it managed to have its own unique soul as well.

Je te conseille vivement Divinity: Original Sin I/II.
Il y a aussi Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions, qui est un JRPG super bien fait, mais il est pas sur steam. Tu peux l'acheter sur ios ou android.

Dark Souls series, if you're into aRPGs (DS1, DS2, DS3
CrossCode, while we're still on the topic of action
Ara Fell is turn based and something more oldschool, probably one of the best RPGMaker games
And it was already mentioned, but I'll also say that Trails in the Sky is really nice

I would dare to propose Deus Ex (1); it is not in a fantastic world, but rather futuristic. It's got his years, so if you're looking for pretty graphics maybe it's not for you.

For Deus Ex, is this one there? https://store.steampowered.com/app/6910/Deus_Ex_Game_of_the_Year_Edition/
I'm not especially looking for beautiful graphics, after all it's very subjective ^^

Indeed. It has an excellent story, appear until the Illuminati! With this game I discovered the RPG, before I played "things that explode". When I saw that it was necessary to read I took my hands to my head but when I finished it I bought Planescape, Neverwinter, Barldur's Gate, the first Fallout, Arcanum ...

Edito: I forgot the Bioshock. They are wonderful. In the third there is a mandatory DLC and one totally dispensable ... I do not remember right now.

The best were already mentioned. You can also try Might & Magic series and Dark Messiah of Might & Magic.
Dark Messiah really kicks ass (as for the game from 2006).
Also all parts of King's Bounty are cool, but it's rather a strategy/tactics rpg.

I haven't noticed anyone say "Yakuza 0", which is on the Humble Monthly currently.

Basically, it's a Japanese version of The Witcher 3 (To anyone saying no to that, think about it. All RPG game elements from TW3 other than
the dialogue choices are in the game :D)

Why don't you buy Skyrim?

As said above.

Gothic, I also recommend the 3rd.
Also all 3 parts (there is no 4th, and especially no 3.5 standalone) have/had a very good modding community with some really big / hours of new content and replay value.
Risen 1 is definitively the little brother but lacking imo.

Risen 2 and 3, ELEX are more unique.
Especially Risen 2 has tons of witty dialogs; probably no one will ever discover completely.

Witcher 3 is missing there :D

Spellforce - especially 1 (3 parts) - is a nice mix of RPG and RTS.

Legend of The Heroes: Trails in the Sky series. A great story with good play mechanics to go with it. I cannot recommend them enough.

Edit: i see they have alredy been mentioned. Another recommendation would be the Shadowrun Series by Harebrained Schemes. I would start with Dragonfall, each game is independant from the others and that one has the best story.

I'm only listing PC games (mostly on steam):

Dark Souls
Mass Effect (1, 2 and 3, skip andromeda)
Atelier Series (Arland Saga arrived on steam a month ago or something like that, so Atelier Rorona, Atelier Totori and Atelier Meruru)
Blue Reflection
Nights of Azure
NieR:Automata
Chilf of Light
Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale
.hack//G.U. Last Recode (but you'll need to watch .hack//Roots. which is a 26 episodes long, and you can look up some other things about the series before the events of G.U.)
ALL OF THE TALES OF GAMES (Vesperia, Zestiria, Berseria). Except Symphonia, that port is garbage
Valkyria Chronicles
Disgaea
Bastion
Transistor
