Game Collector Badge XP updated

"Hello everyone. We have a small update to the Game Collector Badge today: we've tweaked the XP values to be a little less confusing. Anyone with 100 games or more will have a little more XP now."

Just noticed I was suddenly at level 20, instead of 18, and was pretty sure the Gala bundle games weren't solely responsible. Then saw this!

Just a heads-up for anyone else who's wondering why their level inexplicably went up.

I think my xp went up slightly, but I still need to put together another badge or two so I can get to 20 and have that bonus to the chance to find booster packs

Seems to be 1 XP per game + as much XP as the number on the badge. So 100 XP for 100+ badge, 250 XP for 250+ badge, etc.

I'm basing this off the fact that I get 578 XP out of 328 games and a 250+ (Game Mechanic) badge.

That does not hold for me, but I only have the 50+ badge (I have 81 games and 296 exp for the badge), I cannot seem to find any formula that works, but my exp also has not changed at all (still 1 point away from level 8) maybe its not updated for me yet?

My XP for that badge was the same as the number of my games last night, but now it's around 200 more. How is this less confusing ;_;

Maybe DLC is counted now? i.e. every purchase grants you 1 XP? Just a completely random guess. I know DLC didn't count previously and haven't tested this theory.

It isn't DLC. Before they inaccurately counted certain levels of the badge, and didn't even count anything extra if you were above 1000 games, like we are.

Now they simply made it so that it counts your amount of games, then adds the xp for the badge. I am 250 xp above my game count and apparently so is everyone else... My original theory of xp per badge level seems inaccurate or maybe they have to fix it further. I'm guessing a fix will come because people at 300 games have the same xp as people at 1000 games.

looks like 250 + 1 per game.
That seems to be the result for you (1000+ games), myself (800+ games), and Vercinger (300+ games).
Don't know when the 250 kicks in, but apparently it's early on.

Hmm... That is weird. I didn't take the time to check other people out. This is just weird, then. Someone at 300 shouldn't get the same as someone at 500+ or 1000+ since they are different badges. They should fix this a bit. It is better than it was before when people about 1000 didn't get any extra XP, but people below got inconsistent amounts. I'll edit my above post to avoid confusing people.

I think you've nailed it. I've got the 250+ badge with 473 games and my XP for the badges shows as 723.

I'm glad someone posted about this because I couldn't figure out how I got from lvl 16 to 17 while I was sleeping.
