it has been cold here as well, but we get winter for 6 months a year so it is nothing we are not used too

I have nothing against cold. But that amount of snow at short period of time is something i hate. Also greedy truck drivers who try to cut expenses by driving on old tires.
Half hour trip to work changed in 3 hours trip (and 2 hours when going back).

Weird lockdown xD Closed restaurants - but open churches. Closed gyms and icerinks but open pools. Almost nobody gives a fuck about face masks, government is using law that's actually illegal (sic!) to close those businesses and doesn't give a fuck about people going to bankrupt (support is some kind of joke).
In the meantime gov is trying to do everything to piss people off - and when they go on the streets they call them irresponsible.
Welcome to Poland!

I have a balcony of 4,5m by 4m and the water point is towards my house because logic! So I got worried with so much snow these past few days that I would get in trouble so today I went to clear some snow, at some spots it was almost 1m high and removed at least 30kg of snow and that's not even halve of it... sigh so yeah, am happy we finally have some snow, but damn! My appointments this week are also getting cancelled since people rather not go out when not needed!!
Hot cocoa would be great to have right now, sadly I just started my FODMAP diet which means no lactose and am also not allowed a lot of cacao :(

Here snow is so rare and especially skating, people want to go outside, we got a 11 city skating thing, the last one was 23 years ago, some still want its to go through (with corona..).
That seems like an awful lot of snow and work, with hand or machine?
Sounds like an awful and mean diet, never heard of it, although i did hear lactose could be bad if you got stomach issues (and i do have that) so maybe following that diet myself wouldn't be so bad either. Still tea can also be nice. :)

We are from the same country so yes, snow is getting rare! Even more in the part where I live (South of the country) so I am enjoying it, even let my 7 months old kitten out in the snow, he was very confused :P
I did it all by hand, well, I used a dustbin, my mom helped with a part of it, maybe 1/4 or so and my back is not happy with me doing that! But oh well, better that then the stress of maybe water damage later ^^
The diet is brutal, no lactose (which I mostly already avoided if possible), no gluten, a lot of fruit and veggies are not allowed, also some nuts (which can be annoying when you need alternative flour for bread), some sugar replacements, etc. so I am still working on finding what to eat and what not and trying out bread recepis and such... but if it turns out it helps, my bowel would be very happy!

Ah yes the south always getting the most, though this time they said the center would get the most this time, even 50cm at first, then it was 30cm, here near utrecht in the end there was about 5cm. (Maybe snow dunes here and there but i haven't been outside since friday). Was it black? If it's a white kitten might be hard to find back. :p
Got a friend living in the south, seems a lot more relaxed environment to live in, and also the houses slightly bigger and more garden for your money, if i ever won a lottery i'd go there too.
Sounds like basically you can eat almost nothing. :x Love to hear what it does for you later though. I just stick myself with immodium once a while (i know you shouldn't be taking it too long) you also got iberogast but that's also something you can only take 2 weeks, i don't think there is anything that you could even take permanently, but even on their own side they advertized what you could do with stomach problems, even as simple as you should be moving each day, which is simple if you think about it but not everyone thinks about, but also with the whole corona thing sometimes harder. And yeah love to eat more nuts too but many are unfortunately so expensive, walnuts, almonds, but wish you good luck! Rooibos and green tea apparently is also best (i just drink black a lot, because of the caffeine).

Give me your address. Gonna pack some heat to you if you agree to pack some cold to me.
I'm tired to get 35ΒΊC during days under the sun and 26ΒΊC during nights.

I have a flat under the roof of the house with a very bad isolation (none direct under the roof and only the minimal at the high of my flat). So i have in the summer between 35 and 45Β°C in my flat. I am used to it and can handle it much better as the cold :D
And be naked is a better option as to have 20 parts of clothes on that i don't freeze in my flat :o)

Not sure what it is out there right now, but I usually shovel snow in my pajamas, because my blood runs cold. Like 35.5ΒΊC cold. It's like having a fever in reverse!

I love winter. Really loving the snow we are getting this year. Beautifully snowing right now....
Wanted to drive around a bit - none of the roads near me are cleaned so it's a lot of fun...
Wanted to go snowboarding, already bought boots and helmet, was already shopping for the board.... But then I broke my leg... The beautiful winter ruined for me :(
I hope next winter will have the same amount of snow

Nop... I pulled a total facepalm moment right in the house. Slipped on my stairs (kind of slippery and narrow + warm winter slippers (slippery of course)). Not a huge fracture - bumped my heel hard and it turns out it's broken (small fracture, couldn;t even see it in Xray at first). But a fracture is fracture still - so 2 months in a cast for me :D

-20 degrees Celcius here and snow the whole day βπ¨ The car is frozen solid and has a wall of snow for protection πβ You can forget about riding a bike, they can't keep up with pushing snow π² Tram is also snowed in, buses do not run ππ So now I walk to work about 45 minutes πββοΈ I have seen many people skiing on the street or sidewalks. Now I know what I am missing for the next time πββοΈ

We finally have a real winter over here, with it being around -15C for a couple weeks already. For the last few years it barely got below 0C during winter.
And I decided not to buy myself a new pair of skis because we still don't visit public places because of covid and ski is not something you can just buy online...I mean, you can, but I haven't skied for like, 20 years and have no idea which brands are good nowadays so it's better to take a look first. And other skiing equipment is even harder to choose without looking. :/

Yeah but when they make you (un)happy when they would compare it to the one of 1979 and then to see 5cm was a big bummer.
Also already seems to get warmer again next week, maybe even +10c. It didn't even last long, but maybe we heading back to a more colder climate again, i still believe it's possible then those saying everything warms up.

They picked the wrong slogan, just like with COVID, and the Tinfoil crowd ran with it.
Calling it "Global Warming" instead "Climate Change" or "Weather Extremes" was a mistake, just like early on likening COVID to the flu was a mistake.
We see more weather extremes, this includes heat, cold, wind, rain, snow, hail, drought and flooding. Yet people love to yell "See, it ain't warm, it's all fake!"

When your average winters are about 7c and it's been -5c during the day and -15/-20c at night, it seems ENDLESS.
