Yeah, but in the end after second download with launcher it will be about 58GB total after it verified the files.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah but you still need to free up the space (which i never have enough of) and waiting on it to download. :p
Says it's downloading at 20mb/s but still feels slow, it only movies like 1% every 15 minutes, but maybe it will jump later on. I am playing other stuff in the meantime, so not like i am getting bored either.
Comment has been collapsed.
Its even worse if you install it on a network drive. When running the launcher to install the second time it will say 0GB free space. So I had to run the gamel. Look for a .zip file in appdata. Extract the launcher folder into installation folder. Run the game again and then it worked. :)
Comment has been collapsed.
if you dont want to bother launching the game through steam, you can just go to game folder and run the game from eso.exe.
Then you can skip the second download :)
Comment has been collapsed.
So this whole download of 80gb is so you just can run it through steam? Something i downloaded on steam in the first place... o_o
Ah well it's busy already so will let it continue.
I don't even know if i can run it properly, minimum be a geforce 460, and mine is a 430.
Comment has been collapsed.
Not really sure if its intentionally. I know it has to update and patch the game. So it will download a second time to "The Elder Scrolls Online EU". Then after it verified its just a "The Elder Scrolls Online" folder.
I tried to be smart and just renamed the folder to EU, but then it said corrupted files or couldntt verify or something like that. Cant remember exactly.

Thanks for the tip! I'm using your suggestion. There's no way I'm downloading another 80GB right after this.
Comment has been collapsed.
No problem. I remember when when I bought the game about two years ago that I wasnt even able to launch the game with the launcher. So had to run the game directly. Now I got the game on steam so I had to download on steam and run the game through steam so I could link both accounts :)

The thought of linking account is great but ughh.. 80GB more T_T

i have a shi* connection for germany.....
but can't change much :o( .... i pay for 1,6Mb/sec (max.) but hung on a 3km (2 miles) copper connection --
fibreglasscabels (50mb/sec.) lay 100meters away, in 2 directions, from my home..... that's so frustrating --
My connection is very bad, same as in Algeria (North Africa). No joke i have a steamfriend there.
I can only change the speed when i pay much more (change to a other ISP with better wires).
But around 50€+/month + 100 or 200€ for setup the first time is too much for my taste (thats around $60/month + 1x $120 - 250) .
Comment has been collapsed.
Same kinda amounts here to get this internet (but with tv and telephone included), they upped the price 15 euro in 1 1/2 year for "better service" (you use the same line..), they got a monopoly position and they are (ab)using it. Probably the same there too.
Comment has been collapsed.
I have 1.5Mbps and paying for it for $70 a month:v so your connections not really that bad. Just relative to what you look at.
Comment has been collapsed.
Well that's 4x my theorical download speed anyway. I'd like to have that ping, too D:
Good luck with your download :D
Comment has been collapsed.
:) Started many many years ago with ISDN so still remember those slow times.
It's nice to have on (big) downloads, but for the rest it's still a bit overkill, rather wish we could pay less.
And thanks already finished 3 hours ago and played a bit. :)

We don't even have cabled ADSL in my town. Only wireless connections, which suck hard: high and unpredictable latency, downtimes, very slow upload speed, more expensive compared to better, cabled connections :c
Until 2007 our only option was dial-up. 2007-2012 we had an awful 640k wireless. After 2012 things started going "better". Instead, adjacent (even smaller) towns have fibre. I feel like we're 10 years late.
These are the results of the privatization, among many others, of the national telephonic company (to be able to... enter the Euro! So, double scam) and liberalisation of telecommunications. Cities get super duper services and who cares about small towns.
Comment has been collapsed.
Holy shit, are you serious? D: I'm about 5 GB away from completion on Steam. Another 80 is insane =.=
Comment has been collapsed.
Damn it, my bill is gonna skyrocket this month for sure T_T
Comment has been collapsed.
Oh wow, that's mighty useful! I don't mind not running it through Steam if it can save me 80 GB of download.
Comment has been collapsed.
It may be of no use to you but some internet service providers have those awesome little deals like "nights without limits" (it may be hidden under some other name). You pay a small amount of money once for an unlimited access to quick connection between certain hours. If your provider has something like that it may be a good opportunity to catch download them all!
Comment has been collapsed.
It's not the data cap that I'm worried about.. It's my electricity bills T_T My wifi is only 10 Mbps and the best it could go is 1.2 mbps. It took me the whole day to download the 60GB ESO download.
Comment has been collapsed.
Well, not data cap (mine's unlimited thank god) but electric bills. It gets pretty expensive when you leave your PC on a lot of nights :3
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah I know that. I just find it extremely weird that even though they are so advanced in all other aspects (technology related), they still have data caps. It's not that they do not have unlimited plans, it's just that even offering one with a cap seems ridiculous.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah, MMOs are like that. You download the game and then you gotta download all the content and patches that were added.
Or it is when you use CDs or DVDs, seems odd that the digital release doesn't come fully updated.
Comment has been collapsed.
You can upgrade them with in game currency by 10 every time. But it gets VERY expensive very quickly. And as you level up the game introduces new crafting items all the time. You will have to upgrade both your chest and inventory space and spend all your money on that if you're not a premium user.
Personally I hate the system. It's like the game is punishing you for playing. You already paid and bought the thing, I would understand if it was F2P.
Comment has been collapsed.
I don't have it installed so I can't check it in game. But I played easily over 500 hours. It's a fun game to play with your SO until some point...
You don't have to have the crafting bag. (You can't buy it from in game store, it's only available for premium subscribers) But seeing how it makes the game at least 5x easier makes you wonder why you bought the game in the first place. Without the bag you spend A LOT of time organizing your inventory and chest.
And about upgrading the chest and inventory space, you do that with the gold on your character, not real money in case I wasn't clear.
Comment has been collapsed.
No it was clear, and you can't get premium in the beginning, craft a bunch then stop it or you need it through the whole game?
Would have minded 1 time purchases alot less then subscriptions.
Loading times seems to be long on my pc, almost finding it too long for it to wait till i got a better pc.
Comment has been collapsed.
It's not about your PC, loading screens are really long. :(
When you have premium you can put all your crafting items in your crafting bag. Once your premium is over you can't add any items anymore but you can withdraw them whenever you want. It's not a solution but it helps a little bit because you'll have new crafting items popping up in the game until you're level 50 every 2-4 levels.
Comment has been collapsed.
Ah. :( I tried settings to lowest (which looks ugly) guess i can turn it back up a bit then.
I forgot about the whole spawn stealing bit in mmorpgs, though so far they quickly left me alone.
No chat in your face with people yelling noob at you atleast, is a big plus.
No idea on how to get the pet yet that came with it, but maybe i need to progress a bit?
Comment has been collapsed.
Don't bother with fighting/leveling, that's already easy. ESO Plus lets you play all DLCs. You should play the DLC maps before it expires.
Finish the Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild quest lines, they unlock new skills that don't go away after your premium expires. Dark Brotherhood quest line gives you a skill so you can kill NPCs, very useful. Thieves Guild lets you open some special chests around.
Also play the map Orsinium and finish all the quests there. There are some sweet food recipes in that map.
Collect everything around in boxes (flowers/ingredients etc.) you might need them later for crafting. They will automatically go to your crafting bag anyway.
You can visit the Imperial City DLC for new collections and crafting motifs but I think you should finish other DLCs I mentioned first. You might want to visit Morrowind (if you can).
Aaaaaalso, you can paint your costumes as long as you have the Plus. So after you get some costumes from your quest lines, you should paint them to whatever you like.
Comment has been collapsed.
Get ready for 5 GB patches every week for DLC you won't be buying. At this point they should make the game free to play and try to sell all those DLCs they're making as playing the game vanilla AND without premium feels pretty shitty after a while. I stopped playing around Champion Level 200.

a few days ago I saw on the page of one of the games the requirement of 100GB. but I can not find it now
I think it was a game The Evil Within 2, but now the other requirements

And here I am downloading 120+ gigabytes (multiple games) to play with a speed of 2mbps. In a few days, I will be upgrading to 32mbps ISP for an unlimited plan. For those curious, the games I am intending to play are: The Bioshock series, the Arkham games except Arkham Knight, Witcher 1 and 2, Mirror's Edge and Valkyria Chronicles. Having a 70-day vacation finally gave me some time to check through my backlog.

I'm jealous of your internet. I still can't stream porn on mine, I have to download it. I refuse to accept we live in the future until I can.

Hah! And i was actually thinking of buying this..... i dont even have that much free space on my SSD.

Games take longer to download then I end up playing them.

Don't forget the patch update after you install the 80gb lol. Went through the same yesterday.

The game folder (fully updated) is 'only' 75 GB. The download is evil for sure though.

Just a little fyi on my lunacy.....
Install of Fallout 4..... 83.5 gigs
Nexus mods folder for said game.... 74.8 gigs
All on a ssd... I gotta be nuts, but I like it :P

I just downloaded it through steam and deleted the depot folder completely, then ran the launcher again. It seems to be only downloading 45550Mega Bytes now.

Well from what i played so far, it's pretty much like a normal Elder Scrolls game, if you played one, but then online (thus other people to interact with, steal your spawns).
Some word (or reviews) i always find difficult, as it's just one person's opinion, why i always just recommend to watch a gameplay clip to see if you would like it or not.
But maybe some pro player can tell you more about what they liked (or not) about the game.

Wish i had a super switch to make it faster
(It's Elder Scrolls Online about 70gb to install it on steam, then when you launch it, it asks for another 80gb).
