If key wasn't revealed by winner, automatic reroll after 7 days.
It's kind of annoying to beg a winner to claim their win.

Would be a simple rule: When you enter a giveaway, you agree with it in case you win the game, that you activate the game within 7 days. Or else it will be a automatic reroll, except if you revealed the key (this would be a case for support).

EDIT: 7 days period begins after sending key.

No, because... (post in comments)

What if someone claimed key, but haven't marked recieved? If reroll trigger, new winner would get duplicate. Viewing key would have to deactivate it

Yes, that would be support case. After revealing the key, the automatic reroll feature would be deactivated.

If there will be only one entry and winner won't take it that means infinite rerolls °˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖°

Hehe, that's another case for support then. 😉

That wouldn't work for one group I'm in where upcoming games are often giveaways and the licenses aren't available for a while after the g/a ends.

I think it would only really work for public giveaways where the gift option is selected by the g/a host.

Yeah you right, that would be a problem.

I'd imagine in those cases the ga creator would not choose "sent". The only way something like this would work is when using the key option and only after the key has been sent for 7 days. If the winner clicks reveal it will stop the function and if there are no keys then it won't be able to work. Not sure how often something like this happens though so it might not be worth it to add it in.

To be precise: "Automatic reroll after the key has been accessible to the winner for 7 consecutive days, if the key has not been revealed."

Since mods lately got access to the records of keys being sent/hidden, this seems to me like the obvious solution.

Hmm another problem: what about GIFT giveaways? There are no keys to send. What if winner claimed their gift but simply forgets to click on Received. Automatic reroll shouldn't be activated in this case.
Maybe switch off automatic reroll feature for Gift giveaways?

It might be good if it worked this way. This would only happen if you select the "key" option when creating a giveaway and it would work for single or multi copy giveaways. After a giveaway ends, you already have to manually send each key by clicking the send button next to each winner. A 7 day timer will start for each winner when you click the button that sends them their key. If they have not viewed the key when the 7 day timer expires, a new button lights up next to that winner that says something like "reroll" or "select a new winner". Nothing will happen if you don't click the button, so you can give the winner more time if you want, but if you click the button, you will get an automatically approved reroll that does not need to go through support. The site made sure before processing the reroll that the key was never viewed by the original winner, so there is no issue with them possibly having used or copied the key.

Edit: I think you can unsend a key and that would need to be taken into account to prevent abuse by giveaway creators who decide that they don't want to send a key to the winner. The giveaway creator could click the send button to start the 7 day timer and then immediately uncheck it so that the winner can't view the key and then wait 7 days to get a reroll. The site would need to be setup where unselecting the sent button or changing the key will result in the 7 day timer being canceled and then restarted from day 1 when it is marked as sent again.

If a user doesn't care enough about a win to activate it within 7 days or doesn't have enough time to do it, they probably don't care about the game or have the time to play it and it would probably be better to have it go to someone else who would appreciate it more. If they are on vacation or something happened where they can't activate it right away, then all they need to do is leave a comment to get in contact with the giveaway creator and most giveaway creators would probably have no issue with waiting longer. The issue is the ones that are apparently active on the site all day every day, but can't be bothered to activate a win within 7 days.

This is a good idea!

That's a solid option, I totally agree. The interest of at least activating the key asap should the the bare minimum.

I think this could be a good toggle option.

Terrible idea. Automatic APPROVAL of a reroll would be fine. What if I make a giveaway, when they try to activate the key there is a problem which has happened twice so far for me, it can then take more than 7 days to source a new key for the winner.

In one case I was unable to source a new key and so the winner was gracious enough to accept a deletion and I provided them with a choice of games to make up for the inconvenience.

How would just rerolling the win onto another person solve the problem? It wouldn't, it would make it much worse.

If key was revealed, the automatic reroll process should be deactivated, so you got time to solve such things.
