Enhanced Steam is available for Firefox, but it's at version 2.2. I'm guessing the developer updates the extension for his/her primary browser first (which would appear to be Chrome), and then tries to do updates for other browsers as time's available. It's a reasonable approach, but can leave some users behind if they prefer other browsers. Firefox is still on a v2 copy while Chrome is on a v3 copy, so it would be nice if the Firefox version could be updated soon.

Actually, Mozilla takes about 2-3 weeks to certify an extension. Version 2.2 is a few months old, while 2.6 has been submitted to Mozilla (yesterday) so it should be updated in the next couple of weeks.
Chrome, on the other hand, only verifies new apps. Google lets developers publish their own updates without review, meaning they're live almost instantly.

I'm surprised he doesn't keep it on his personal site. I know another addon I use has a personal site with the latest version you can download, without waiting for it to be confirmed.

I looked into doing that also. However, for it to automatically update Firefox now requires a dedicated SSL certificate, which my site doesn't have. I'm more than happy putting the latest build up for direct download for those interested, but it wouldn't update automatically.

I'd be happy enough with that if it means a copy working with the beta profile layouts. This site alerts us to new copies anyway.
Also, hadn't realized you were the creator of this addon. :P

Steam enhanced used to work for me but not anymore.. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and it doesn't even show up on the steam page. Anyone know how I can fix it?

Mine was doing funky stuff for me as well before I updated it (as in, not showing anything on any steam domain) but I fixed that by going into Chrome Settings -> Click the Extensions tab on the left -> clicked "update extensions now" button that's in the upper right and now enhanced steam works for me.. Hopefully this helps you.

Gah... still won't work.
I don't know what else I can do. ;_;

Nice, thanks for the info.
Though it would be cool if you can do it in your steam client.

A version of Enhanced Steam has already been submitted to Opera and is awaiting verification. http://enhancedsteam.com/blog/enhanced-steam-for-opera-submitted/

Installed but can't seem to get the custom background to work :s

Ehh no thanks, i'll stick to regular steam, not some random browser extension that hardly anyone has.

Lol noobish comment. Loads of people use this supremely useful and functional add-on. It's not "some random" anything..

All of the backgrounds are kept on Valve's servers, I'm not hosting any actual content for this. All that EnhancedSteam.com is hosting is a simple database that stores your selection (a number associated with a background, actually). Each time you visit a profile, it checks that database to see which profile background should be loaded.

5.0.1 because I hate how like Chrome the newer versions are. If I wanted a browser like Chrome, I'd use Chrome.

You can modify install.rdf file so the ES will install on FF5. Go here, right click on "Add to Firefox" and save the file on your PC. Open the *.xpi file with file archiver and edit install.rdf file (IMHO the best way to do this is to use 7-zip, as you don't need to unpack the add-on to edit the file, don't know if other archivers allow this) by changing "minVersion" from 19.0 to 5.0. Lastly save changes and drag modified .xpi file into FF window.

While this may work with most addons, and might work (somewhat) with Enhanced Steam, I'd recommend against it. Enhanced Steam uses the latest Add-On SDK from Mozilla (Jetpack) that I'm not sure were even implemented in 5.0.1. Enhanced Steam also uses the most recent and effective Javascript code that Mozilla supports, such as MutationObvservers which weren't implemented in that version.

That's a really bad idea from a security perspective. Also, several add-ons can help you keep the "old Firefox" look and feel in newer version. Upgrade!

I agree with thenevernow. That's a huge security issue right there. There have been countless security patches and exploit fixes since that version. For the love of whatever deity you believe in dear ladynadiad, upgrade! All visual elements of the browser can be tweaked and customised to your hearts' content anyway. If you need help with it, you can message me some time on Steam. There's lots of good add-ons that you can add also, to make it a quite good browser that still has the old, proper feel.

Also, if you don't like updating FF every few weeks you can install Firefox ESR (Extended Support Release). Here is some info about it.

HAHA, I GET IT! They call it Enhanced, because it's even worse now.

2.6 version
Without being approved, it is still possible to install it manually.
2.2 is horribly outdated and has some bugs that annoy me. Let's see if this version fixes them or not.

Finally something (minor) that annoyed me is fixed. Thanks to the author.

So is total spent in account details accurate, I mean I know I have bought some games off Amazon/GMG but it seems a bit low.
$114.23
Comment has been collapsed.
That does seem a little low for the amount of games you have. The only way to be 100% certain is to go through each tab and tally the cost by hand (Store Transactions + In Game Transactions + Market Transactions), then compare it to what Enhanced Steam displays.

will do when I am not super tired I suppose. I mean granted I only really buy on sale....still to low looking.

I have the same problem. I can't see the way to change the background.
Maybe removing my official background before?
EDIT: Sorry for the big bump, i came to this page from Google search and didn't notice the date... -__-*

Enhanced Steam for Google Chrome just updated to version 3.5
In this version, you can set a custom profile background without having it in your inventory from your "Edit profile" page which looks like this.
Once set, any user with Enhanced Steam that is viewing your profile will see the custom background that you've set. So be sure and tell your friends about Enhanced Steam so they can see your profile properly!
Cheers!
