Just noticed that Valve has a plan to implement purchasing a game to gift for later soon. I'm looking forward to that update.

It is a GREAT way to stop scamming, I think Valve's idea is that people are going to do it anyway so why not make it so that nobody gets scammed.

It also adds a choice when buying a game as a gift: you can choose to email it or send to a friend, as before, OR to add it to your "inventory" so you can trade it or access it later if you want. Essentially it adds a gift pass to your account just as, say, buying a 4pack does.

Only just heard of this when I saw an article on that on Joystiq (and in turn, the official TF2 site).
Something about trading surplus TF2 items for unused Steam gifts or something like that. Any first impressions to those in the beta?
