Hey there, SG. I don't write here much anymore. This is because I'm just not gaming much anymore, I spend all my time on studying, university related things, and rock climbing. Well, it's time to play some games again, because I just went and BROKE MY SHOULDER!

I was biking to the climbing gym two days ago when I was going downhill and going to turn a corner. Well, Sweden being Sweden, it was a bit slippery outside and my bike couldn't take the turn. I fell right on my left side, and noticed pretty quickly that I couldn't move my left arm. Passersby called 112 and I had to take a taxi to the emergency room. The verdict? Shoulder fracture, have to wear a sling for 6 weeks, and no rock climbing for at least 10 weeks. Sad life.

So now I have time for playing games. What I'm looking for is some recommendations. What are some games that work well when one arm is not functioning? Worth to mention that both my hands still work, so I can play games that are "one-handed", on Steam Deck, and with a controller, but mouse and keyboard would be difficult.

Here's the list of my owned games on Steam if you can find anything there.. Otherwise, if there's a game that I don't own that you'd think I'd enjoy and is easy for me to play, please mention it!!!

It's also a good thing I'm into visual novels. Luckily I bought that dreaded Sakura Humble Bundle that I can spend time on playing. But do you have recommendations for actually good VNs?

Here's the train you're looking for

You could check out the Deponia Franchise, they are point-and-click adventures, so you can play them with only a mouse. The plot is funny and sometimes even a bit ridiculous.

Get well soon.

I'm not that much into visual novels, but I played A Case of Distrust and The Monster Inside and I enjoyed both (probably thanks to their noir-ish atmosphere). May that shoulder heal asap and thanks for the train!

Kind of the same story here, I fractured my wrist in multiple spots while skiing.
I have to wear a cast for 2 months, can't go to the gym for 3 months, no upper body training. Gym rat's worst dream.
Wishing you a speedy recovery buddy.

Thank you, hope you recover well too! Yes, it's very depressing for someone who likes working out and being outdoors... I plan to walk to the climbing gym someday just to say hi to the staff I know. Other than that I think the only thing I can do at the moment is step/stair training. Should probably do that for the sake of my mental health.

Yes indeed, I've just got back from a long walk. Gotta get some peace of mind and a breath of fresh air. It's hard to substitute what we love and do as a routine.
I recommend Retrowave btw! A very chill game that i can play with one hand. You can cruise with friends as well.
DLC allows you to play your own music in game.

I work in civil construction. 10 days ago I fell off a scaffolding, 3m high, landed on my left foot.
Broke my talus bone, 3 months recovery 😢

I hope you have a speedy and steady recovery as well :)

Sorry to hear that, hope things go well for you. I was relieved that at least I still have my legs, even if they're covered in bruises right now. That can't be an easy injury in that occupation.
