Have you ever broken a bone?
Thank you! The LEGO games could be nice! I'm a bit ashamed that I haven't worked on them yet, I've just collected them and not played them... :/

Almost all of them are really good. I love the old ones the most - they have the perfect mix of jokes and gameplay (probably why I have 100% on every lego game I played to this date, heh). Pirates of Carribbean, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars Original Trilogy - they all are excellent, and super easy to play.
As a side bonus - most of them are also couch coop-capable. So if you have a buddy and another controller, you can have even more fun together.
Also, I personally loved Lego City Undercover - a nice departure from the "traditional" LEGO formula, in favor of a GTA-like design. It was refreshing, but still had the same charm of the regular titles.

Necrodancer is a banger, maybe I can give it a go again. I've played Zero Escape but Fata Morgana is one I've wanted to read for a while.

how about mouse only? https://store.steampowered.com/tags/en/Mouse%20only
you can search your library or use https://www.lorenzostanco.com/lab/steam/ broken for now
my favorites are FTL and CIV, and card based games like Slay the Spire and Deep Sky Derelicts. these can keep you distracted for hours
you can also check old recommendations https://www.steamgifts.com/discussions/subscribed/search?q=one%20hand
cant see how can you play Steamdeck one handed but make sure you dont over work it and get well soon

Thank you! I have a sling that restricts my arm movement, but not my hand movement. I'm able to operate a controller/Steam Deck with both hands if I keep it in my lap close to my body. I can't do mouse&keyboard though since I'd have to move my left arm to reach the keyboard.

+1 to Slay the Spire. You don't need the keyboard - it can make for faster play, but a mouse is all you need. You can also play with the gamepad if you are comfortable with it. This is the one game I know I can always pick up and play, no matter my setup, and no matter how much time I have. It's literally endless and very engaging hehe I noticed you don't own it but it's worth it.
If you decide to give it a go, let me know and I can suggest some QoL mods :)
EDIT - I saw someone suggesting Disco Elysium, so maybe you can try Gamedec? I think it was part of a bundle not long ago so maybe there are still GA's going around for it

i thought the steam deck was heavier!
if you can use controller then you got decades of games at your fingers emu lation
even better on steamdeck. go finish that game you never could as a kid
RPGs wont stress your hands

I don't want to reveal my location but the bike is a "Yosemite City Comfort". City comfort my ass. It did not have winter tires.

Dang, I can relate, had a broken humerus right at the shoulder as a kid and couldn't play games for months because I had a full torso cast and gamepads weren't a thing then
I think now's the time to play out Beyond Two Souls and Heavy Rain you have waiting in your backlog, though quick time events might give you some problems.
Valiant Hearts: The Great War is a good choice
Lacuna definitely
XCOM 1&2 are a great one handed game 😁
As for something new, I don't know of open world games that go well with a gamepad.
Stray comes to mind looking at your list
Also something more story focused like Detroit: Become Human
Point&Clicks and VNs look like the easiest things to play in that state but looking at your list looks like you've played all that I would've recommended
Also kudos for achievement hunting, I get bored after I finish the story.
Shame Layton's not on PC 😁
Oh and I hope you get well soon, and be really careful while cycling especially when it's wet/cold. Fell down a couple of times even while at low speed. Investing in better tires might be of use 😄
Thanx4train
Edit: Try Disco Elysium, it's an RPG but VNs are basically that in a simpler form 😆

Thanks for the recs! Layton is on PC if you emulate it! I played the first on emulator a few years ago, would be nice to play the rest. That for some reason reminded me that we're finally getting Ghost Trick for PC, another good game I emulated back in the day.

Be well soon!
You already played most of your VNs that isn't a Sakura game so I'll go to recommending route:
DATE A LIVE
Amnesia: Memeories
Umineko When They Cry Question and Answer Arcs
Senren Banka
PixelFade VNs
Cross Princess

Deep Space Waifu [ok, hehe, I'm only sort joking]
I loved AI: The Somnium Files

I also loved AI. It was as if they made a game just for me only. I played the sequel a few weeks ago and it was decent but imo it missed the mark. :(

Well, if you still have a hand left, I am sending a few that you can help yourself https://steam250.com/adult :)

:) I'm surprised that I've only played 2 out of the top 10 there. I love adult trash.

Wishing you a speedy and good recovery!
As for games, one handed you could consider simulation games (manager like or building), some strategic games (i loved Crusader Kings 3..).
But looking at your played games you might look for some story telling games, meaby some from telltale..
Thansk for the train!

Ah, that's a bummer I've broken quite a few bones while motorbiking, climbing, skiing so I can relate. Hope you'll recover in no time.

The old Popcap games like Bejeweled and Plants vs Zombies are mouse only as far as I can remember, and they're pretty good fun. Also basically every point and click adventure game and a bunch of puzzle games.
When it comes to VN's my favorite one to recommend is Analogue: A Hate Story since that's the first one I've ever played, back when it was new, and the game that showed me such a type of narrative was a thing.
I wish you a fast recovery, breaking a bone must suck.

I liked Analogue: A Hate Story. It was weird in the beginning but when you get used to the "gameplay" it's very fascinating. This particular song from the OST pops up in my head from time to time.

While it is bad that you broke your shoulder, it sounds like it could have been a lot worse! I am glad that you'll be fully recovered in 2 to 3 months. Just in time for summer?

I absolutely would not have guessed while I was waiting in the ER that I had broken a bone. This type of fracture seems to be a bit kinder as the bone is in the exact right place for healing, so if I just chill in my sling for a while it seems that I'm going to recover fully. I'm just a bit worried that my shoulder mobility will have taken a hit, as it is pretty important for climbing, but I'll have to wait until I'm ready for the physiotherapist to discuss that.

🤔First of all, I hope you recover soon.
Is it a game that can be played with one hand?
The ones not played in your library of games did not seem very convenient.
So what about puzzles that are free and can be done with one hand?
Huh? Is it still a hassle because it's one-handed? I heard there is puzzle skipping too...
🆓😈Helltaker😋
Cheap and reputable puzzle
🐾Cats_Organized_Neatly😺
🙄Something with some kind of reputation💊
NEEDY GIRL OVERDOSE
Here is what immediately came to mind.
Touch the free ones and then think about the rest.

I will never let a chance to recommend Pyre go by.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/462770/Pyre/
Its a story focused game by Supergiant Games (bastion, transistor, hades)
Its a game were the gameplay makes the story choices.

Damn that sucks. I hope you're not in too much pain. I dislocated my shoulder a few times after tearing my rotator cuff and it was painful.
Hope you can get some playing done despite your injury. Could have been worse of course but you also could have not injured yourself at all so bad luck.
Lots of good games have been mentioned but I'd be remiss if I didn't mention this one
It's a puzzle platformer and a lot of the puzzling is done through voice input only so there's basic movement on the controller but that can be done one handed.

get well soon and found these when taking a quick look - of course no idea how good they are for one arm/handed people

Hey there, SG. I don't write here much anymore. This is because I'm just not gaming much anymore, I spend all my time on studying, university related things, and rock climbing. Well, it's time to play some games again, because I just went and BROKE MY SHOULDER!
I was biking to the climbing gym two days ago when I was going downhill and going to turn a corner. Well, Sweden being Sweden, it was a bit slippery outside and my bike couldn't take the turn. I fell right on my left side, and noticed pretty quickly that I couldn't move my left arm. Passersby called 112 and I had to take a taxi to the emergency room. The verdict? Shoulder fracture, have to wear a sling for 6 weeks, and no rock climbing for at least 10 weeks. Sad life.
So now I have time for playing games. What I'm looking for is some recommendations. What are some games that work well when one arm is not functioning? Worth to mention that both my hands still work, so I can play games that are "one-handed", on Steam Deck, and with a controller, but mouse and keyboard would be difficult.
Here's the list of my owned games on Steam if you can find anything there.. Otherwise, if there's a game that I don't own that you'd think I'd enjoy and is easy for me to play, please mention it!!!
It's also a good thing I'm into visual novels. Luckily I bought that dreaded Sakura Humble Bundle that I can spend time on playing. But do you have recommendations for actually good VNs?
Here's the train you're looking for
