Gent-Wevelgem in Flanders Fields

Also running: Australian Grand Prix 2018

How it works

Predict who is going to win the race; that's all. :)

Entries close when the race starts (Sunday morning)

Race Preview

We're back in Flanders for a busy ten days (also known as Flemish Cycling Week). Friday 23: E3 Harelbeke, Sunday 25: Gent–Wevelgem, Wednesday 28: Dwars door Vlaanderen. And then on April 1 Flander's high mass: de Ronde van Vlaanderen. All are UCI World Tour races so I'm doing events for all of them this year.

Gent-Wevelgem has a flat finish but it's a hard race so often a small group finishes first.

He rarely wins anything (what a shame), but still: Jurgen Roelandts.

This one probably ends in a bunch sprint. Going with Vivani as Quick-Step just seems unbeatable in races in Belgium atm.

Sagan was so annoyed with how things went in Milano - Sanremo and E3 Harelbeke this year; I'm sure he was motivated to the max to show everyone today.

Very impressive to then actually do it; I was sure Viviani would use him as a launch pad to grab the win in the final metres.

Shame there were so many crashes today but it was fun.

More cycling coming up the next few weeks; Dwars door Vlaanderen on Wednesday and then de Ronde van Vlaanderen next Sunday!

He won again? Maybe we should better give predictions for the next north korean election next time? 😄

Picking Sagan, expecially after a few missed wins as you pointed out, is just too easy :P.
Very nice race, with the current route it's also way more interesting (Milano-Sanremo, apart from Nibali's masterpiece, was boring as hell) and it's always nice to move among historical landmarks, even if they are tragic memories as in today's case.

I fully agree; every race should try and include some historical landmarks if possible.

Vivani had the highest end speed but was in a bad position after he let Demare past him. impressive win by Sagan.
