I actually left a bunch of earlier bumps unanswered, but thank you!

Can't enter the Agony giveaway, but I joined the group and followed the curator since it looks interesting. I wish you good luck with the group! :)

Heyo, Fabs... )

My public [level 0 giveaway] is failing miserably so far, so I'll see if this works a little better.

Methinks you are lacking clarity about what you are trying to accomplish and how to go about it. Your level 0 giveaway has 463 entries in its first 36 hours. As far as giveaways go, that is considered a success. It seems to me, however, that what you are truly after is regular followers of your curation. Giving away games will have almost zero impact on that. Instead, you need to "sell" your potential customers on the service you are providing. Here are a few suggestions:

  1. Keep a narrow focus in the beginning. Do "one thing" (possibly two) very well, and leave "branching out" for after you've established yourself.
  2. Identify what makes you stand out from other curators and hype that. Ask yourself what distinguishes you from the competition.
  3. Don't "pay" people to follow you as that turns it into "work." When the payment stops, so will the "work."

I hope that helps. )

I like these suggestions very much. Third makes a bunch of sense to me. I'll have to really think about some of this stuff.

It definitely will help me, so I appreciate the advice!

Looks brilliant actually. I'm always amazed by the number of indie games I only find out about 2 or 3 years later when buying them doesn't make much of a difference to support the devs anymore. Good idea for a group

Yeah sure, why not. Joined and followed.

If you're open to a little constructive criticism (otherwise, disregard), I believe your reviews could be a little more in-depth. Your reviews for SoulSet and Dead Cells are great examples of good reviews, in my opinion. In the other reviews, tell people a bit more about the mechanics, what was working and what wasn't, what kind of story (if any), musical score, etc, etc. I don't know how others feel, but I count on the few curators I follow to give me the honest low-down on all the nitty-gritty details. And, most importantly, don't be afraid to give people the negatives you find in any game as well. You could be saving someone some time and money by doing so.

Yeah, a group I am in has a template just like that in the curation headers themselves... genre, brief description, a couple of pros and cons for the little curation bit, sneaking under the character limit. I'll be thinking over that a bit when we get going a little more. Might be good to touch up on that kind of thing more often. I love getting into mechanics or explaining how it's going for me if I encounter oddities, or things I really like.

Depending on what I reviewed, and for whom/what reason, sometimes it would be trimmed back, or I'd add a ton of info - the character limit would hit me and I'd have to remove parts because of that. Some curators did not like longer reviews, and others really enjoyed them so far... I'm kinda free to go that longer route more often here once things get rolling for me again a little better. I kinda over-explain, like I'm probably doing right now, but I agree that pros and cons, when honest and accurate, are a really quick and easy way to see if one has even the slightest interest, on whether to pursue said games after looking at a couple of reviews... I do personally like longer ones I can link up and add some of my thoughts. Nothing for EONIA either yet. Been in a funk, but I'll be adding more on that later - kinda early anyway for me to really dig into it too much.

Sorry, I am blabbing... but I hear ya! I hope we can be a nice service to others once (or if) we are more established sometime. Thank you for sharing a bit more on your own perspective. I'm always more than happy to get any opinions or ideas on how others feel it's going.

It looks good from here buddy! ^^

Thank you for your nice giveaway while I already have this game so I'm not joining your group and following your curation because I could enter your giveaway but because I see you as a friend! <3

Good luck with your group and curation and possibly, like me and SG when I had cancer, this will channel your thoughts and give you something to keep busy with and that's a good thing, I know.

Still reasonable here. A bit overwhelmed with some stuff coming up - so far so good with all my girlfriend's treatment stuff. Examination went well, so the radiology guy thinks it seems like it did the trick. The scans have to get scheduled later still, but we're getting there.

Have a good weekend there, and I hope it's going well for you!
