The Man from Earth - Not much goes on in this movie, just some people talking in a living room, but it kept me intrigued the whole time. Certainly a mind-blower and my favorite movie of all time.

He was born in Africa 14,000 years ago. Played by a white guy. Really.
In the movie, they lampshade the fact that he's white by saying something like "Oh, his biology might have changed over the years." Really ruined the rest of the piece for me. I felt that they cast a Caucasian for fear of upsetting religious fundamentalists who don't know the history of their own iconography.

Abre Los Ojos, Brazil, Little Miss Sunshine, Pandorum, Cube, The Signal (treat it as a comedy and it's golden), Brainded (Dead Alive), Everything You Wanted To Know About Sex But Were Afraid To Ask, M (Fritz Lang movie), Spirited Away, Mr. Hulot's Vacatiom, Mon Oncle, Playtime, City Lights, Identity, Noroi (The Curse), Let The Right One In, Sympathy For Mr. Vengeance, Fight Club, Audition, Sunshine (the Danny Boyle one), Jacob's Ladder, Dark City, Pontypool, The Man From Earth, The Objective, Donnie Darko, North By Northwest, the Riddick movies, Night Of The Living Dead, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Apocalypse Now, Memento, Up, The Lives Of Others, The Wages Of Fear (stick with the old one), Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas, Into The Wild, Pi, Last Year In Marienbad (kinda pretentious art movie, approach with caution), It's A Wonderful Life, Lake Mungo (and holy shit is it also scary), Blue Velvet, Twin Peaks - Fire Walk With Me (also the series in general), The Seven Samurai, and basically the whole of 2 TV series, The Twilight Zone (first generation), and The Outer Limits (while both generations are great, I loved the newer one a bit better). Anyone know of a good movie that just blew your mind in terms of having an amazing concept behind it.
eg: Truman Show, Inception, maybe Stranger Than Fiction or Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind.
