I am sure you tought it is another discussion about not winning anything. Aaand, you were wrong. Sorry :(

I just want to say my story about gaming headphones sets. They don't like me... Nope, they just don't...
I have whole new computer since Christmas (and it was build to play Assassin's Creed Unity.... Guess what. Yeah, Unity is not working on my pc :D lol. It can run fucking Watch Dogs on high, AC IV: Black Flag on ultra, but fucking Unity has lags on minimal. FUCK YOU UBISOFT) well, back to the topic.

First time, I bought some Biohazard headset. Microphone was so bad, people just heard cracling and weird sounds but no my voice, so I got my ass up and went back to the shop and changed it for another one.
These second ones has microphone turned around, so I was talking to back of that microphone and the side I was supposed to talk into was whole covered, so my voice sounded like miles away from microphone. I changed these too for better.

Third gaming headset from Logitech G230, whole new, much more expensive, so I tought it will be better. , again, microphone not working! I bough them today as my birthday gift. And microphone is silent, like it was not plugged in or muted, but I checked both.

So after these experiences I decided that gaming headphones sets are not for me. But I just want to ask you, what kind of headset you have, your review, so I can decide to buy maybe the first lucky headphones set, which would actually has a working microphone.

thank you for reading it to this point, sorry for bad english! And if you helps me, I will add you to whitelist and when I find gaming headphones set, I will crate whitelist members only giveaway. Enjoy, good luck in winning, have better luck than me :D

No need to comment more, I bought razer kraken usb, they are working fine ^^

I use SteelSeries Siberia V2 just because they're the most comfortable headset I've ever encountered. Mic is fine for gaming, skype etc (it's nice that you can hide it completely when you don't use it), but if you wish for high quality recording no headset will be good. For things like voice recording, comentating, singing etc you have to go for an extra professional mic

well, actually I want it just for skype or teamspeak talking while gaming. I heard about SteelSeries, they are little bit expensive for me, but I can risk it with them. Thank you, Whitelisted

I don't want too expensive... I am not that rich :D in my country, they costs like +75€ and that's a lot, when your pay is about 400€ :/ but yeah I will think about them :)

I bought mine (well, my fiance bought it as an xmas present, but details... ;p) 1.5 year ago for an equivalent of a little bit over 50€. Don't go for cheap (20-30€) ones from nopname internet auctions - they are mostly cheap chinese imitations. But basic Siberia v2 should be avaiable for ~50€ (we live in countries next to each other, similar prices). the 75€ and more expensive ones are either the ones with USB soundcard attached, or promotional ones - for example stylized for some particular game, having lights on head parts etc - these are cosmetics stuff that you really don't need :>

And thanks for whitelist :>

Mmmmh... you know that your problem could be your motherboard? or the connection where you plug it (in the case you use a front panel or whatever).

Personally i have a "Trust GXT10", i changed my old one (dont remember what it was, a cheap one) because i was having weird problems with my sound and my microphone and im pretty happy with my new one, but ive always wanted a hiperx cloud...

Comment has been collapsed.

I heard hiperx cloud are not that good... and yeah, I was thinking about motherboard problems, but I don't think so, It is new pc and I use only back pannel. And biohazar has only USB port, usb are working fine. I can use my webcam normaly, microphone works here fine. I think I just has luck for bad pieces. A

Better than my 15 Eur headset from trust for sure ;) no idea if the best on the market tho...

About the motherboard, the fact that the motherboard is new doesnt mean it will work perfectly, you should try your headset on other computer to see if its shitty there too xD

I suggest a wireless version, especially if you are planning to use it on a console as the wires can come loose if you aren't extra extra careful.

I believe you are confusing yourself with someone else...

That much aside, I would reiterate the Turtle Beach recommendation.
You can grab a decent set from Newegg.com, but if you're seeking any genuinely insightful input perhaps you could elaborate on your requirements? Price range? Yes, you said +75€ is a lot but what would you consider a reasonable value?

I guess my question would be were all those headsets analogue?

I had an issue with the motherboard on my old computer where I couldn't get the mic to work properly on any headset that was analogue. The mic would be incredibly quiet at max volume and max boost or would have other issues.

I ended up getting a USB headset with a built in soundcard and no problems.

I'm terrible with headsets. Mine last a few months and then I go back to using an old microphone (like the one pictured below) and a pair of headphones when the rest of the household doesn't need to hear me playing. I don't even feel that I'm hard on them either. I don't break cords or anything. The microphone just quits working. I've had this old desk mic for years and it's never let me down.

I have the Kingston HyperX Cloud II, definitely an amazing headset. It's comfortable, mic sounds great, and it has virtual 7.1 surround. Before it I had the Playstation Elite Pulse Headset, to use with PC, PS3, and now PS4, but while it sounded good, the mic was pretty bad, virtual 7.1 didn't work on PC, it was heavy and uncomfortable, and because it was entirely made of plastic it broke within 2 years. So yeah I'm pretty happy with my current headset :D

I second that on the PS Elite set (though mine never broke)... I loved the sound, but the mic performance and weight were glaring cons to the pair.

I have the logitech g430, never had a problem with them but it was a bit tricky to setup at first because it uses the two input jacks for mic/headset but to get the "surround sound" feel you have to put them into a usb part and put that into the computer.

It turns out that one was a tiny bit off and so the sound was extremely low at first. I fixed that and it works great now but it is true the sound can't go super loud if your'e someone who wants that.

PlayStation Wireless Gold: they perform much better on PS systems than PC because the 7.1 virtual surround is not supported outside of the consoles. That being said, they are comfortable, lightweight, reliable, reasonably priced (IMO), and as opposed to many other wireless headsets I have used no one ever complains about my voice transmissions. I've had mic "issues" as well from wired to wireless to BlueTooth wireless as well. I've had Turtle Beach, Logitech, Jawbone (for phone only of course), and all have earned me comments like "it sounds like you are talking through a tin can" or "you keep breaking up." I've never heard one thing about these... and yes, they will also work with your phone.

Bought myself the G230 a few days ago. Paid 35€, was totally worth it.

The mic quality was rather modest when I tried them first, but after updating my sound driver and doing some fine-tuning, they're working perfectly fine.

I've used this Logitech Headset for 10 years. Hope the G230 will last just as long, too.

I go through headsets like crazy. The most comfortable I have found is the Corsair 1500, or the analog version 1400.

Lately I've opted for features so I picked up a Logitech G35. It's not as comfortable as the Corsair 1500, but I like the buttons on the side, as well as the volume slider on the actual headset.

I use the Corsair 1500 at work where I wear them all day. The G35 is okay for gaming sessions, but I don't like to wear them for extended times.

Most "gaming" headsets are built cheap one way or another, flimsy mics or thin cable or just cheap magnets. Get a studio headphones and a separate mic. I use Audio Technica ath-m40x headphones mostly.

This is exactly my solution, except I use my super old Zalman 6 speaker headphones for true surround. As for a mic, I use one of those secretary dictation mics. Best I've come across, and I just hang it on my neck.
