What was your first computer? And I don't mean family computers nor computers that you were sharing with someone.

Mine was Pentium II 266Mhz, 64MB Ram, 4GB HDD. I bought it second hand for like $350 and after few weeks I upgraded a graphic card to nVidia GeForce MX200 to be able to play THPS 2 :D

Our family's first computer was a 286 running DOS PowerMenu (Or something like that, its been a while...). My first computer was a el cheapo pre-built computer for my 16th birthday. It was pretty bad, didn't have a graphics card, or much in the way of cooling, for that matter. It did what it needed to do, though (mainly used it for school assignments).

My first computer was a Sinclair 1000. 1k of memory, and it cost $120. Later Commodore 64's price dropped from it's original $595 price down to $400, and they had a promotion for $100 rebate when you sent them any old computer, so I got my first C=64 for $300.

Wikipedia tells me Timex Sinclair 1000 was a ZX81 with 2K of RAM. Did they get it wrong? (I had a "real" ZX81.)

edit: asked my dad, the original HDD was 320 Mb. Our second computer was a 486dx running at 88Mhz with 16Mb of RAM and with 2 HDDs, i don't remember the exact size of each HDD but the total storage on that machine was 3.6Gb
