Hey guys, so I managed to turn my HayDay promo credit to normal funds, thanks to Amazon's unclear wording, but now I need to find something I can spend it on. So far my choice is Battleborn Season Pass, but I'm open to any good recommendation, which I don't own. You can recommend good Uplay and Origin games too :D

Thanks for your help in advance :)

Yeah. If they try to shake you off tell them that it's false advertising.

Amazon messed up the wording in the emails and said that the credit was applied towards anything sold by Amazon.com instead of Amazon AppStore. If you point that out to a Customer Support member and you have luck, then they transfer that money to normal Amazon funds

How long does their support take?

They are available on Live Chat so it depends on how long does it take to persuade them :D

Digital stuff and Customer support. But it doesn't really matter. They will help you anyway.

They refuse to trade it in here.
Even copied the mail Cletus received below and they just say it's not possible.

But when you open the chat you first chat with a first line, that transfers you to someone else, you might get transfered again to the same person (and yes perhaps try again).
I will try email them (but the person i had on the chat might just be the one who also answers emails), else i might forget about it.

[EDIT] Mail also denied.

Mail said sorry we can't help you. Not worth the effort to even try a third time.

And after i tried support, i pulled up that mail and it did really only mention appstore credit, so someone made it all up, and people didn't even have a leg to stand on really. Those that did get it changed got really lucky.
Most likely even some higher up got wind of it and told everyone working there they couldn't do it anymore.

The wording was not misleading or incorrect, that's just a fallacy. Here is a direct quote from the e-mail that I got:

Thank you for your download of Hay Day from the Amazon Appstore. Your $10 Amazon Appstore credit has been added to your account and will expire in 30 days. This credit is usable towards your next purchase of an app, game, or in-app purchase sold by Amazon.com.

It clearly states that it is Appstore credit, which means it is specifically for apps. That said, the rest is true, and if you get the right customer service rep they will sometimes acquiesce to your concerns to foster customer loyalty, although in this case I would say it is kind of doubtful how many people are actual legitimate customers who shop on Amazon.

You are right, mine just said appstore too, so either some mails perhaps had it wrong or someone made that part up.

Knowing human nature and the mentality of the cheapass gamer and deal hunter, my money is on the latter. That is to say a fabrication. An interpretation through uber rose-colored glasses and the twisting of words in the way most convenient to one's own interests, no matter how contrived. However, if it works it works. Let's just not pretend (speaking in general) that Amazon had any obligation to throw people a bone though.

Granted. but Amazon also has some very double standards, in granting apparently some that change and basically telling others it isn't true, you are lying and bugger off (the mail i tried afterwards was basically sorry we can't help you), probably because you aren't a valuable client in their eyes, if they knew they were right they stick to the guns and not allow anyone that change.

Big corporations are often wrong too and dont't really offer any service either though.

That's a very common thing with stores/retailers when it comes to this sort of thing though. You will often find varying degrees of inconsistency from one person to the next when it comes to certain types of policies, especially the bigger the company gets. Those who browse 'deal hunter' sites will see this all the time in user comments. I know the inconsistency is a bit 'annoying' (for lack of a better word), but that's how it is.

On a sidenote still it isn't really a "cheapass" freebie or deal for deal hunters, as you put it though, its $10 appstore credit just you want to transfer into other credit, in the end it cost amazon $10, just some words that changes.

But i am done with it, just was not worth the time and effort, just pointed it out so others don't have to bother trying.

Good point. People will probably try anyway though given the audience.

"Thank you for contacting us at Amazon.com!

After reviewing your email, I understand that you've received $10.00 promo for downloading Hay Day app and you would like to use the promo on Amazon website instead of Amazon appstore. Rest assured, I would surely help you.

I'd like to inform you that the Hay Day promo is only be applicable to Amazon appstore.

However, I've issued a $10.00 promotional certificate to your Amazon.com account and removed the promo which was credited by Amazon appstore team. The will automatically apply the next time you order an eligible item sold and shipped by Amazon.com. The promotional certificate doesn't apply to items offered by other sellers on the Amazon.com website and won't cover the purchase of gift cards, sales tax, gift wrap, or additional shipping costs."

Awesome, think I might grab Evil Within :D
