Hey. I have seen people complaining about some bundles that they are not good and etc. Its shame guys. These bundles are at 95%+ discount price of the real price and you complain. And you forget the main thing. It goes to charity.

I dont mean that you can't say that you dont like the games and etc but I mean some of hatefull messages to these Indie Bundles and etc.

EDIT: Guys. Some of you missunderstanted my thread. I'm not working for any bundle site. I just loved doing some giveaways of their games. I have also removed links to Indie Bundles to not confuse you. Thank you for understanding.

I don't know who first figured out that you can get away with selling shitty flash games by calling them 'indie', but they impress and disgust me equally.

Where do you guys think we are?

Also Indieroyales (except ALPHA one) Doesn't give money to charity.

Alpha does not give money to charity. There WILL be an all-charity bundle - but all other IR bundles give nothing to charity.

Bundles are only a form of marketing the games of unknown developers - nothing more.
And if you want to support charity, donate money directly.

That's not the reason. Humble Indie Bundle appeared to support indie developers (and charity) and it contained some really nice games but after it's success people started making lots of new bundles for the sole purpose of making money for themselves, throwing in anything they can just so they have something to sell. That's not us, that's them who forgot what bundles were for.

Two things I've noticed on this thread...
[strike] 1) Mira, I believe, works for Indie Gala (is one of three admins on their Steam group), never disclosed that in this thread, and was never called out on it in this thread. Nothing really wrong with that, but there's probably some bias to the original post that some who replied aren't considering. [/strike] [edit] See OP for edited version. [/edit]
2) Mira also never replied to any of the comments in this thread. My only guess is that he or she didn't realize that Indie Royale is not generally done for charity and after learning that, simply has nothing more to say on it. [strike](An edit to the OP's italicized statement stating otherwise would be appreciated though.)[/strike] [edit] Thank you, Mira, for clearing up the confusion and correcting things! [/edit]

Anything else I would add to this thread has been repeated tens of times already.

Thanks for 1). I did not know about that and it explains A LOT.

I didn't realize it either, thanks for mentioning that. But it doesn't change my opinion on the topic at all.

That said, I WOULD like to see Indie Gala offer non-Steam versions of things. As of right now, it seems to be a crappier version of Humble Indie Bundle, using basically the same pricing scheme but with no DRM-free offerings, and less means to customize my payment.

I didn't think it worth calling out. I knew Mira was associated with Indie Gala, and I figure this post was self serving, but it's a worthwhile discussion point and I think it's better to address the ideas in a post than question the poster's intention.

Still, if she wanted to simply discuss/point at the attitude of Internet community to bundles, it would have been better to wait till IG2 is over and/or not post the links in the bottom. ("If you want to help, you can. www.indieroyale.com www.indiegala.com www.humblebundle.com").

i'm sorry but no steam= no buy. i dont care how bad a developer is hurting or how great their game is. no steam, no buy. this is why ea will never have my money again. when its on steam i'm happy to give at least $10 per bundle, so there really is no need for you to get self-righteous about the bundles

How does a game being on Steam have anything to do with a game being published by EA? There are EA games on Steam, and there are non-EA games that are not on Steam.

New EA titles won't be on Steam.

It's not really a big deal for me as long as those new titles are of top quality, like BF3 and ME3, but I have to admit I'm a bit hesitant to buy less amazing EA titles even at sale prices on Origin. The good thing about Origin is that you don't ever really need to open it once you've downloaded/activated the game (except for BF3 because of Battlelog, but that's all in the background anyway).

The Humble bundle and indiegala funds raised goes to charity, the indieroyale doesnt (still that money goes directly to the devs, which is good either way).

Also, this could very be one of the main reasons you went for this business model, after all, you said it yourself: "There are kids who needs our help and you just care about games." If everyone, included gamers would care about it, just because we have a huge heart, then we wouldnt even be behind our monitors after playing Skyrim, we'd be flying our asses to Africa and try to help as many people as we can, wouldnt we?.

Then again, you also have a point in some other stuff: the latest bundles have been discussed thoroughly by gamers, not just here, and a big majority were mainly just buying these bundles because they saw a game they liked, or because they all included a steam key, or a desura key, which i dont exactly think its the mere point of an indie bundle.

I think the main point in an indie bundle is the fact that you have a group of games, that you may or may not ever heard of, and you may, or may not even like, kinda like a surprise box; the point of it is for someone who is not looking to make a big purchase, to spend a full 50$ out of their wallet, to get a 5$ surprise box instead; not only you're giving the indie devs a chance to show their products, but you're also helping charity, and the devs themselves to improve, or work on more projects.

Personally i've bought the Humble Indie Bundle 4, the Humble FrozenByte Bundle (frozen synapse was worth around 25USD) and the IndieRoyaleBundle (nuclear dawn one), the only games i was interested in these bundles were Nuclear Dawn, out of the FB bundle i found an amazing game, which i should start spending more time on: Frozen Synapse, also Total Crossfire was really addicting, and brought me back some old memories. My point here is that, i wasnt even aware of some of the games in these bundles, but i took the chance either way, and enjoyed it, i dont care about spending 20 dollars (80 pesos here, enough to pay for a giant pizza), but i care because i know that money is not going to be wasted, not for me, and not for charity, or the devs.

Either way Mirraa, i seriously doubt that someone who will spend 5$ on a bundle just because there's an android version of a game he already has on steam will actually donate money, if that is your point. This is the internet after all, and in here things are bound to be compared.....with everything.

My apologies if that wall of text was clunky, i did my best to keep it organized and easy to read, just my 2 cents on the matter.
