Hey y'all

I have a question I could not find answered in the FAQ or Guidelines
I have won a game (actually a DLC) recently, but the key I got was not for the right DLC. Truth be told, both the GA creator and I do not know what game the DLC is for.
Now, after some back and forth, I've gotten radio silence, so I marked as not received (as the giveaway ended on Dec 27)

The question is this:

What would happen if I now win this DLC in another GA? Would this be counted as 'multiple win' (mostly in regards to SGTools filters?) or not?

EDIT: it was a 2 copy GA, and the other winner did receive, so deletion is not really an option.
The creator did try to file a 'change giveaway game' request, but I guess this won't work, as the other winner did get the right thing...

I hope you guys can help. Thanks in advance!

I don't think so. If you didn't receive the game (or mark the game as not received), the game does not appear in your public list of won games, so SGTool shouldn't detect that you won the game before.

That's my guess, though.

only if you mark both as received you'll get in trouble.

i see it's a x2 copy ga, if it was just 1 copy you could let him delete it. ^^

Tell the Creator to delete the GA. You have to give your permission and you both are clear

It was a 2 Copy GA - as stated by Leeuw96... so that doesn't really work.

B2T:
In this case the GA creator has to give you a key for the right DLC if he want to keep his "all-sent/delievered" ratio..

Giveaways you mark as not received count as free passes for you, as you didn't receive anything, you obviously won't be held responsible and for you it'll work like it never happened. Just make sure not to accidentally change the feedback for that particular giveaway in the future (unless new development occurs).
(For the same reason, there are quite harsh penalties if you are proven to maliciously leave false feedback, but that shouldn't be an issue here.)

I have my Russian friends who have 20 - 30 steam accounts each. That way they win a whole lots of games here and if they won a cool game or a DLC they say the key was duplicate and / or cannot be activated. So they ask for other key. Of course they trade lots of keys and I trade many, many AAA games with them. Using that extortion they almost got 2 keys from any cool GA - one for themselves and one for a trade. And if someone doesn't want to provide one more key, they just let that person go with mark 'not received'. They say 'not received' will be a lesson for them next time.

no it was not to ask you why at all - we all have reasons for these things - although I will not reciprocate :)
the reason I pointed it out, so that you see my reasoning, was because I was about to WL you for being good at actively weeding out people like that, but then I was shocked to found out that you don't like me for some reason - so I found it odd that I appreciated what you were doing, but the feeling was not mutual :P - call it an exclamation of sadness from a sad panda :O)

indeed - sorry to say that I do find that a little bit personal - because I make sure to give way more than I take, and I only enter for games that I do have every intention of playing! (I give more than I enter to actually make up for the fact that I may not get to the games I enter for straight away - life is busy at the moment - but hopefully won't always be to busy to prevent me playing)
Indeed, I make it a point of not entering any giveaway that states they want it to be played soon - as I know we have little time to do that, I avoid all giveaways for BLAEO (think that is right) and play your wins month stuff
but despite this, I understand your reasoning - and was just mometarily made sad by it all whenI was going for the heart button :(
have a good day anyway and thanks for what you did anyway :)

Yup, that was fast! :D I'd look into their friend's list and check their friends for the above mentioned (and thoroughly described) behavior.

yeah - I would as well - who on earth would admit that though on a forum - that is just strange !!

That's what I thought too. Like, how stupid can you be to:
a) admit to a crime
b) admit it ON the crime-spot
c) explain the entire process
d) rat out your friends and thus a source of your income, in this case - games

I started looking into one, and thought of the same thing, but I need coffee to continue (just woke up xD). Also, despite the fear that they may see me mentioning it and thus deleting their friends list (I am unsure if they can read the forums if they are perma banned), I felt I better mention it in high hopes Mods will see it and act accordingly even further :D
EDIT: I also feared that they would think of flushing the list themselves first, without us mentioning it xD

that's good to know - wonder how many friends they outed because they wanted to show off with how easy they thought gaming the system was to them all ?
They are still online - so I wonder if they can still view the forums?

Only issue is now we don't know which Russians were doing it.
Maybe playing along we could have gotten some info out of the genius.

I doubt he's THAT stupid, but then again... :D
He only mentions one Russian, the other accounts might as well be from Nicaragua for all we know.

There is no problem since you only mark the last one received. This has happened to me before, with Castle Crashers, when the first creator failed to deliver and never used the site again.

The system couldn't penalize you for this. Imagine what would happen if you decided to buy the game for an undelivered GA - this also happened to be with Satellite Reign. This user said he'd ask for a deletion but it never happened.
