So I gifted a couple of copies of Skyrim in the recent Berlin train... I couldn't resist getting a lot of "Thanks for Skyrim" comments :-p

One of the winners replied to me again today about a free upgrade and well it just made me so happy to have made another person so happy. Happiness is circular, huh? So I'm linking the TY here and am asking you, gentle readers, to post your "best" thank-you's for gifts you've given...

https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/VO4pB/the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-legendary-edition#OQp92ll

My cake day is coming up soon and I'm hoping to get around to a train - and no, it probably won't contain Skyrim but for now, no gibs with this thread - just some good vibes, hopefully :-)

Oops, I misunderstood the question the first time :p
The best thank you was from a winner who started playing the game right away (This War of Mine). We talked about it on steam chat and shared tips.
Another nice "thank you" was from someone who won the second chapter of a game they enjoyed, played it and wrote a review about it.
But I don't really care for words, I don't mind if people don't thank after a giveaway ends. As long as winners try the games I'm happy, they don't even have to like them :)

Well I have a fairly back-breaking backlog so I never expect an immediate play but it's nice when peeps let me know they enjoyed a game I gifted them :-)

This one made me laugh.

This one was very cute.

I always enjoy it when people comment even just a simple thanks. Makes it feel like they entered for the game and not just to improve their numbers. I always end up whitelisting the people who say thanks.

Nice topic.

I went back to giveaways I made this year, and found some nice thanks:

(Sorry, some of them are for Unlucky-7 group only, so I'll quote here.)

(Unlucky-7 giveaway for Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light)
SolFawn: Yeeeeey :D
(Loved the enthusiasm.)

(Unlucky-7 giveaway for The Last Remnant)
st33lfrog: Many thanks!
Me: Enjoy!
st33lfrog: Will do :) But I must say I was dazed when I found that this is 70 h game. This will be a big challenge for me (work, family,..)
(I can sympathise, and I like that it felt that st33lfrog is seriously considering playing it even so.)

One of the first wins of this user, who later went on to contribute (and win) a lot.

Plus some nice thanks from non-winners:
Cute and on topic (Unlucky-7 giveaway was for The Night of the Rabbit. MrRenard posted a nice gif, see below.)

Who knew my gift(s) would turn out to be super-special?? :-)

As to positive vibes, I'm a great proponent of good manners except when I'm truly pissed off and well, my manners slip a bit :-p and figured, heck, why not say why funny, friendly thank-you's make me happy. I suspect they make most people happy too :-D

Haha. Yeah, I remember reading that (and having to look the word up), so that pic was hardly coincidental. I'm glad it didn't offend you, though, as I had second thoughts afterwards that it might seem too rude. :3

nope, not at all. I've been to wine country several times and truly enjoy a great Pinot Noir - even developing a bit of ability to taste the difference in terroir's if an expert points them out. That being said, I will still mostly drink $6-7 bottles. So definitely not too much of a wine snob :-p

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Oh, it wasn't about snobbery, but I didn't mean to imply that you're as rude as she is, even when your manners slip. :3

I'm sure your palate's much more refined than mine, but my taste buds know enough to tell me whether or not I enjoy a particular wine, and the ones I prefer often contradict the price on the bottle. :)

Mwahaha! That was snort-inducing :-p

Actually on my last big train, I had to re-roll a winner that had gotten suspended (I hadn't reported him since I could see the duplicate win was actually two different DLC/games), but someone else must have since he won multiple times in the same train. Anyway, he thanked me several times -both for the win that he didn't get and for being nice to him. Curiously, there were several other winners of multiple games that failed to say thanks for even one of their wins. Is it possible that they can only press the "enter" button but don't know how to type? Yeah, that must be it :-p

I like any thank-you as well but agree that the enthusiastic ones make my day! As to Berlin, these types of events push me to do very long trains which are horribly time-consuming so I enjoy the "push" to be part of something bigger than myself - glad you enjoyed the ride that so many contributed to :-)

I'll have to look and see if I got any great thank-you's. In the meantime, here's one I left after I won a ♥ GA for Tales from the Borderlands

"Oh my gosh, I love this game SO much! ♥ I can't tell you how much you've brightened my weekends!
