The unfortunate reality is that Bethesda is well-known for being quite stingy when it comes to offering good discounts on DLC and it's rare for them to do so, meanwhile they tend to offer much better deals on base games and complete editions. Their pricing strategy essentially screws over early buyers/supporters as it is often cheaper to simply buy the complete edition of a game just for the DLC, rather than acquiring all of the DLC separately (which is what you think would normally be more sensible). Their ploy of trying to make their customers have to pay for the base game a second time by employing these tactics really rubs me the wrong way, as it does many other people. No one else does this to the extent that Bethesda does, and in my opinion it's quite anti-consumer. And let's not even get started with The Elder Scrolls Online. Bethesda easily come off as one of the greediest publishers out there, and despite the fact that they put out some real quality titles I can't say that there would ever be any love lost from my side.

IMHO if they produce amazing games that are still moddable (even if they do have bugs) I dont mind them being greedy it is more of an annoyance than anything else

Bethesda is currently the only company that I am willing to preorder their games / pay full original price for their games. That wasn't always true (i.e. TES 1 & 2 era).

But if they can continue to put out games like Fallout, TES 3, 4, 5 - I'll gladly pay that price and more. I got more mileage out of Skyrim (200+ hours) than out of scores of other games combined. And I haven't even gotten the DLCs yet (because I have a really hard time going back to a game once I have finished it). Once enough time passes that I forget enough of the game, I'll probably get those and go back and play again.

Sign up for email alerts at Is There Any Deal so you get an alert very early during any sale at any legit game/key seller. It looks like aside from that unintended 75% sale at Amazon last winter, it only goes to 50% off.
