French or Russian
I had Russian in high school and had French in college. Russian is similar to my own language (Serbian) but it has more grammatical rules you have to learn. French was too difficult for me, had waaay more problems because it's primarily spoken in one breath and you can't recognize what part of the sentence is subject, predicate, object. One really has to listen carefully to french. But french is more useful

Russian language is understood almost all Eastern European countries (in all countries of the former Soviet Union continue to study Russian language, even if the national language of the country other) and a third of the population of the State of Israel
French language is understood in all the former French colonies in Africa and in Canada ...
It all depends what kind of audience you are interested in the most?

Russian, definitely.
I had french classes back in school and hated it (sorry to all the french SG users)
Russian on the other hand ... it's a beautiful language and most importantly it makes you sexy. Just look at me.
I'm sexy as fuck.

it's unlikely to find some to speak to, but instead of Russian, pick Bulgarian as Cyrillic script is a Bulgarian script, language has no case like English and instead wasting time with grammar cases you can increase words count

russian language is harder to learn than french. Cause it's a syntetic language. It should be taken in cosideration.
Русский мой родной язык, если что.

I've tried both, and didn't like either, sorry. Most especially French, but most especially Russian!

I think it is not just choosing the language, but also choosing the culture which you would learn, because language can not be separated from it.
I'd make my choice based on that, and not on some random people's majority vote =)
Both cultures are great, but one is directly opposite from another.

Going with Russian since it is the second most common language on the interwebs. Never understood the whole "French being sexy" thing, though I am a Latino who lives in Canada so that might have something to do with it.
