Do you save-scum, you scum!?
I am not above it, some games would be extremely frustrating otherwise, try beating a Fire Emblem without save states, not the recent ones, but older titles, games like Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War and Thracia 776, imagine you have been playing a map for 2.5 hours, having a perfect battle, and then you get careless around the boss and one of your characters dies ==> reload/restart the whole level again. Ugh, no, I no longer have the time or the patience for this. The perma death and randomized stat growths make it almost mandatory to save-scum, the games are difficult enough as they're, you don't want to deal with lackluster characters just because the Rng keeps screwing you over.
Same for pick-pocketing in Baldur's Gate, a fail (highly likely) means everyone in the area will attack you.
Anyway, these were just some examples, I also remember save-scumming a lot in the first Eschalon game, due to randomized loot, you could get a worthless 1 Gold junk item or an awesome +4/+5 enchanted armor/weapon with a value of 1500 G in the same chest. In the sequel, Eschalon : Book II, they had an option to start with loot that would be generated at the beginning of the game and the content won't change unless you start a new game, ticked it and had a much better, smoother experience overall.
As for story-driven games, I try to live with the consequences of my choices as much as possible, but sometimes I really don't like the outcome and have to reload. only to discover, more often than not, that X character dies no matter what and certain outcomes can't be avoided

So here I am again with another one of my questions! And now I wanted to know if you have ever indulged in the practice of save-scumming, and in how much did you indulged?
If you're looking for multiple endings then this is unavoidable, but when talking more in the lines of a first playthrough: Maybe you regretted a choice you made in a story driven game and wanted to change it? Or maybe you didn't like the random piece of loot you got in an RPG? Or maybe you just want to do everything perfectly from the beginning? That's the stuff I want to know!
In my case, I try to keep my playthrough as clean as possible, but the majority of the time I have fallen victim to the temptation of save-scumming, so maybe you did better than me? XD
