Drinking mate is quite a widely used custom in Argentina, but afaik in Uruguay almost everyone drinks mate. Though Uruguay has a total population of 3M and chances are you will find someone from Argentina than from Uruguay. Also it is drunk in southern Brazil and in Paraguay there is a cold version named Terere

My favorite are stouts and Belgian beers. In particular I love coffee stouts (bonus for coffee chocolate stouts), caramel brown ales, and Belgian strong dark ales / quads. I also really like coconut stouts, bourbon barrel stouts and Belgians (though those are potent potables), dark lagers (despite their name, light and refreshing), and some New England IPAs.

I... may or may not have 28 different beers in my beer fridge right now... I really like beer. :)
And don't be fooled by dark ales - while some are indeed very rich, like stouts and imperial stouts, others like dark lagers / schwarzbiers are actually light and refreshing. They use the same malt as standard lagers, just roasted longer to give it the dark color and roasted flavor, and taste a lot more flavorful with notes of toast, biscuit, chocolate, coffee, and caramel. I don't like standard lagers because I don't like the taste, but I love dark lagers and find them delicious.

No vodka in the poll. I have no clue what my favorite drink is but it's a mix of butterscotch schnapps, Bailey's Irish cream, vodka, and khalua. Also tolon tolon flavors leche merengada and chocolate is pretty good.

Spiced black tea or blue tea (kind of Oolong) are my favorites, but actually any type of tea is fine π
