i dont own VH III yet but wanted to start Van Helsing soon, Victor Vran is such an awesome game (i know diff dev) i hope VH will be also great, i will try on HEROIC first and when it's too hard on HARD mode. i love ARPG's where you need to grind for loot and level ups., but what are the differences of both versions and which is betteR? why?

As far as I know Final cut is VH IV. But if you own I + II + III you can get the last one for free from the dev.
I am playing the first one at the moment and its fun. Haven't played Victor Vran though so I can't compare those.

Pretty sure Final Cut is 1, 2, and 3 (with some improvements) re-released in a single package, not a fourth installment in the series.

Oh ok thank you. Didn't know that :)

This is correct, to a point.
It also remasters [edits out old, adds new] side content, and removes the VH1 and 2 classes to replace them with the 3rd game's.

While Final Cut is flat out an improvement over the rushed and poorly received 3, there's some basis for potentially maybe still wanting the original copies of 1 & 2 (as noted by another commenter, below).

It's a minimal basis, though, since for the most part Final Cut is an overall better offering, and it's the only one still receiving support [afaik], which is notable as the main reason the VH series gets negative reviews is for bugs, not for content.

tl;dr version, Final Cut is the best version hands down; but if you're getting it free with 1, 2, and 3, then that's a bonus, since you can still play 1&2 if you find certain elements of them favorable.

Final cut is all the 3 episodes combined. If you have the first 3 titles you'll get the final cut from free (as far as I know and if it's still valid).
I have a 66% off coupon for Van helsing III, you can have it :)

Final Cut is the newest version with upgraded mechanics from all the other episodes, it includes all 3 episodes + new classes for first two episodes. You should start with the Final Cut, just get VH 3 and you'll have Final Cut for free for having all 3 episodes.

Van Helsing is a lot better than Victor Vran IMO, it's a real ARPG.

I enjoyed Van Helsing 1+2, haven't played 3 yet.
Also look forward to playing Victor Vran also.

Final Cut contains the systems from VHIII into all three titles. Van Helsing I and II had a better character build system whereas 3 and Final Cut condense the builds somewhat into simpler efficient trees. If you like to tinker with builds then play 1 & 2, if you want the full experience or not bothered by builds go for Final Cut.

so VH III and the Final Cut are a bit stripped down in skill system?
i guess imma play VH I and II seperately then.

They created 6 "classes" of character but in doing so limited what each class could actually do as opposed to the 3 available from the originals which you could mix and match more.

Like everyone else said, Final Cut contains VH1+VH2+VH3, with all their DLCs, running on VH3 engine.
But to get Final Cut for free, you just need the base games (unlike Nordic Games and Darksiders II), and there is currently a wealth of 66% off coupons for VH3 among Steam users, expiring April 21st
If you're interested, this group https://steamcommunity.com/groups/coupondumpster accepts coupon donations, and give them to those who want them, all for free! Just be sure to follow their (simple) guidelines, if you join.
About the games, could anyone who has played both, explain me the differences between Van Helsing an Victor Vran?
Van Helsing 1 & 2 are not installed yet, but I've recently started playing Victor Vran, and I'm enjoying it! A nice change of pace from Skyrim.

Take that with a bit of caution, as I don't remember where I read that (maybe it was a steam community hub for one of the games?)
I'll try to locate the source.

I searched a bit, but all I've found is one user on Steam, and a few on Reddit, claiming that they didn't need the DLCs from VH 1 & 2 to get VH:FC for free. I guess we need someone who has done it to either confirm or bust this myth!
I'd grab one of those coupons and do it, but I'm out of money right now...

Victor Vran and Van Helsing games are nothing alike. Besides the similar ambientation and generic protagonist, they're totally different approaches to the same genre.

The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing is a little closer to the traditional ARPG genre, with plenty customization on skills, so it features a deeper character development. The gameplay is also traditional, favouring point & click on mouse (even though it supports joystick).

Victor Vran is a different take on the genre, with a lighter character development, taken from hardcore fans of the genre as something more casual. The gameplay is its biggest virtue, favouring the use of a gamepad, with a much action-oriented result, allowing the player to attack a direction, keep on rolling and even jumping, which is something new for the genre.

I played them both (actually, all 4 van helsings, 1, 2, 3 and Final Cut), and they've both their own merits, but I particularly had much more fun playing Victor Vran.

Thanks for the response!
Just to clarify, I haven't really played any ARPG before, but I'm quite well versed with traditional RPG (I'm close to completing Skyrim's achievements), and JRPG (although they're mostly turn-based), and I wanted to try something different.
My Hard Drive is almost full, so I chose to install Victor Vran because it's smaller, and I'm having a blast playing it with an XBOX360 controller (I usually prefer KB+M, but they're too clunky for this game).
Is the first Van Helsing beginner-friendly? I cleared some space, so I'm going to install it tonight.

I'd play the Final Cut version instead of the previous games, as it ties all the games into a single piece, and after the few years, NeoCore games learned a lot from their mistakes.

Van Helsing is fine, on lower difficulties it's rather easy. One of the greatest thing of the game are the easter eggs as a reward for exploration and curiosity - many cool references here and there.

You'll also have a follower, the ghost Katarina, which can aid you in combat, and says some great lines here and there. Her voice acting makes the game much more bearable, and in the final part of the game (or on Van Helsing 3, if you're not playing Final Cut) you'll know a little more about her backstory. For me, that's the best part of the story.

After finishing the story (can take up to 30 hours in Final Cut, or if playing the separated games, 10 for each game), you're invited to play the scenario mode, a gametype where you play the same maps of the campaign, but with different goals, in search for loot and so on. That's where its replayability lies.

Since you're not familiar with the genre, that's usually as far as the ARPG goes: you'll hunt for better loot, to become stronger, allowing you to get even better loot, and so on. Some people really get hooked into these schemes, but like happens in MMORPGs in general.

I got it from the same bundle, so I can confirm that the key is indeed for the complete pack (game+2 DLC+soundtrack).
