If DRM-Free is your thing, I'd say go for gog. If the devs are willing to port Steam version to linux, I bet they can also do the same thing for other platforms. The "additional costs" are most likely due to extra hour for uploading patches everywhere. Besides, they say is not in top priority, doesn't mean it won't happen.

Hiya, lads and gals :)
recently i am up to drm free version of games, cause i want some games to be available without necessity of internet connection or some third-party.
But at the moment i am a bit confused with situation regarding linux verions of games on gog.
since gog launched summer sale and there are good games with good % off i was interested with availability of linux version of a games on gog, because steam already has linux version of some games. for example, Age of wonders 3 and this topic http://ageofwonders.com/forums/topic/linuxmac-no-gog-support/ where some lad stated that Triumph Studios announced mac and linux version, but not cleared that it will be only steam exclusive of a linux version of game.
furthermore, another lad stated (i assume that this is employee of Triumph Studios) that porting game to drm free will add additional cost and therefore at the moment not their top priority http://ageofwonders.com/forums/topic/linuxmac-no-gog-support/#post-186423
well, maybe it is single example of problem for Triumph Studios to make drm free linux verion of a game, but there are other games on gog that don't have linux version.
so i am asking for a little bit of advice should i stick with steam for games which have linux port or buy gog games with hope that in future game will have linux version? thanks in advance ;)
