I just notice that most games have no contribution requirement, thus a lot of people can take and enter every giveway without contributing to the community.

It's not like you gain anything by having more people enter to win the games you post... 10 people or 1000 people it's the same thing for the person posting the game.

Shouldn't we put higher contribution requirement to make sure those giving away games are rewarded?

I meant mad as insane, not angry.
P.S. Yes, everyone wants SotMC. I agree.

So you want a system where you get an equal reward for what you give away. Have you tried SteamTrades.com?

I traded steam games before, that's not what i meant.

What i meant is that rewarding contributors would help keep this site healthy, which would mean more game giveways and more gifts given in the end even to leechers. But apparently this logic is too complex, since people keep missing the point.

People are free to do what they want with their giveaways. If they want to put restrictions, they will. If they want to make giveaways public, it's up to them. The site is supposed to be about giving gifts. Contribution is sort of like charity you can say. People contribute because they want to give something to the community without expecting anything else in return.

Guy probably traded the gift and marked as not received. Happens often.

I didn't come to the site for a few days, and when i came to send the gift (which i did send) the winner had already reported that he didn't get it. I am not sure (never won anything) but i don't think he can rectify the information and report that he did in fact receive it.

He can mark the game as not received only after 1 week, and he can change that when he wants...

You need to go to Steamtrades.com if you want to swap your games, that's why this page is called steamGIFTS.com

Giving games isn't the only way to contribute to the community. Plenty of people are active on here, but can't afford to create giveaways.

I just headbang on numpad when setting contributor value for giveaways, it's amazing how many times i managed to hit 0,01$ precisely

For people who say they dont have money for games: every single game I gave away got it for free from promotions or webpages.

Yeah thats the spirit...take the free keys others really want and use them to boost your contributor...hilarious. And don't forget that some of them are on the list of the exploited keys. And that list isnt even up to date.

I completely agree. For example - A Virus Named TOM keys were taken by bots when dev game them out. I didn't get any but some people got 5 or more. I don't think that's fair to others. Ok you can take one for yourself and one for your friend but not take a bunch of them and then just give them away and boost contributor value. That's not fair to other people who actually want to play the game!

Because the name of the site is SteamGifts . If everyone would put high contribution values than this site will be dead in a days matter .

Different people think differently. I know people who giveaway without requirements solely to try to reach those who can't afford anything at all, just as I've seen plenty $1000+ giveaways. Just do what you feel like, letting others do the same. I for instance just stick to small group/private giveaways, to give the people I want a chance at winning things. Even though the things I give are pretty small :P

If people want to make giveaways without contributor requirements they can do it. If they want to make them contributor only - they can do that too. It's how people choose to make their giveaways. If there was a contributor only giveaways in this site it would lose a lot of users because not everyone can buy games themselves and the games they have are gifts or won somewhere else. You shouldn't worry about things like that!

If every game on the site had a contribution requirement, I never would have started using the site and thus never would have started contributing and as such, there'd be one less person posting giveaways. I'm quite certain that would apply to quite a few people.

Exactly. If every giveaway had a contribution requirement, the site would be as good as dead. People don't want to join a site where on the face of it the only way to get something is to pay.

Personally I don't put a contributor value on any of my giveaways.
