steamgifts only allows complete games and or DLC to be submitted for a giveaway. NOT BETA or ALPHA stages of games. so when someone creates an EVOLVE giveaway, it means he must deliver the complete game not the alpha key. so when he sends you the beta key, thank him kindly, and after a week, select NO on the question as to whether or not you have received the game. because your have not. i like this website lets not mess it up

I believe that's more for Free Betas...
I've seen plenty of giveaways for games in Early Access.

That's because you get to keep the early access game when it goes out of beta. This you don't.

exactly. lets say someone gave away a minecraft beta when it was still in beta. you get to keep that game forever!

im very new to this website, but i appreciate all the people that pull out money from their own pockets and give away the games! dont lose faith, just make sure you enter the giveaways, so that if you do win, you do your part to teach the giveaway creators a lesson!

Then it's going to be a pleasure to collectively say: "Told ya so!" and point them to this thread when they start complaining that they can't access the game they won anymore.

Oh, the glee! :D

Well, unless you receive a Steam Gift instead of a key.

Where's the admins/moderators when you need them?

They don't care. Most of them are people who just come in for giveaways. Not CV, nor reputation or forums.

Also when alpha ends, evolve winners can be suspended for not having evolve in their steam library.

The problem is this:

The winner receives key and redeems it. It just activates as "Evolve" and doesn't say it's alpha so they assume it's the real game and mark received. On Nov 3, it gets removed from their library, but since Steam doesn't give a message when alpha/beta keys are removed, the person has a very big chance of not noticing it was removed. Winner gets suspended due to people reporting.

This doesn't seem fair to me.

All people who entered don`t even know SG have a forum...
They like sheep :
"Wow...a free game witch work only 2 days...I NEED IT"
Then will cry a week or two because the game has been removed from their library.

Where the heck are people even seeing "It's gonna disappear once it reaches full release"?

Permalink

because this key you are receiving is not for the full game. its for the alpha testing of the game. once the alpha testing stops you do not get to keep the game.

There is one more thing. Everyone who played Xcom Enemy Unknown gets this alpha free.
"Own XCOM on Steam? Get Big Alpha now
If you’ve already hunted aliens in XCOM on Steam, you can now install Evolve Big Alpha with no registration code required (PC only). "

HAhahahahaha
