Okay, so I resubscribed last month for Crash and Spyro, and since I'm not really interested by this month (even if it's a high-quality one), I paused-for-a-month. Paused but still subscribed, so all good for the Classic tier of the future Humble Choice, I thought.
But there is now a red banner on the Monthly page that wasn't there a few days ago :
Your subscription is paused. Activate your subscription to unlock the full benefits of Humble Choice.
So they claimed that once the Humble Choice will be released, we'll be able to pause-a-month anytime and still keep the Classic (if we unlocked it by being subscribed at the day of the release). So if you want; you can subscribe now, pause right away without paying anything (and getting no game then, obviously), get access to the Classic tier, and pause each month for years. That's pretty clear.
With this message, it seems that we have to be subscribed AND unpaused at the date of the release to unlock the Classic tier (and be free to pause for the future months). Either that, or it's just a bait to try to unpause the subscribed-but-paused with a fake/incomplete message (and as a stupid fish, I took the bait and bought this month to be extra sure to get the Classic).
I'm too lazy to ask more information to the support, I'm very sorry.
I also wrote the same information there.

Indeed. I could just have read again the Humble Choice FAQ, that would have been simplier.
How do I make sure I get the Classic plan?
To make sure that you are converted to a Classic plan you will need to double-check that you are an active subscriber to Humble Monthly prior to the launch of Humble Choice. You can review your subscription status at the Subscriber Hub (or check out this support article) to make sure you are an active subscriber.
While reviewing the "Manage Your Subscription" section at the Subscriber Hub, if both "Current Plan" and "Next Billing Date" appear, you are set up to receive the Classic plan without any further changes being necessary. If you have the option to "Resubscribe" anywhere on this page then you will need to subscribe to a plan prior to the launch of Humble Choice. In addition, if your subscription is paused when Humble Choice has launched you will still be converted over to a Classic plan.

So much complaining. I think they doing this cause ppl was so scarred of buying even monthly with 2-3 games shown and rest as 'unknown'. Always could be shi** or pearls.
On HBC this will be better-you wont gamble with 'shi* or pearl', u just taking them all at once or pausing
Prices? It's them right to change the price. No one forcing you to buy. If ur subscriber now u getting same costs for more games.
Youre saying 'its bad for new buyers'? Wtf just think about yourself and about what u get for your price.

Total Steam retail price:$272 USD, higher than any prior Humble Monthly
*=Games on my wishlist
So I'll be buying this upcoming Humble Choice on the Classic Plan.
It'll be interesting to see how future Humble Choice compare to this first month.

Can somone confirm, that pausing the subscribtion will be possible with the classic plan?
For instance, I subscribe now, and pause for as long as I wish until there's games I want.
With the only drawback being, that I have to remember to pause each month?

Not unless you cancelled and the re-subscribed during that time.

Rock Paper Shotgun Article
"Humble’s game subscription service Humble Monthly will soon relaunch with a higher price as Humble Choice. Rather than giving a fixed bag of games (usually 8) for $12/month, each month Humble Choice have a choice of 10 games and let you pick some to keep. You’ll get 3 on the Choice Basic tier for $15/month, or 9 for $20/month on Choice Premium."
