Cool implementation with the "the following users have thanked" list.

Update: new version 1.2 is out for Chrome and Firefox. Comments are no longer eligible for filtering if they contain links, and the wording in the "who said thanks" summary has been improved.

Thanks - glad you like it. What do you mean by "gone"?

While I personally don't want this (if nothing else, I rely on avatars as much as names, so if I'm trying to find people who've thanked, this would actually make it harder), I can understand why some do (especially loko) and hope it'll cut down on the amount of complaint threads. Requesting perma-sticky or added to this sticky.

Absolutely wonderful! This will be nice for those who don't like to see the pages upon pages of thanks and nice for those of us who do, since it should cut down on the complaints and if it doesn't all one has to do is link them to this.
Thank you for taking the time to do this.

2 suggsetions:
This comment has the additional benefit of a bump for this excellent thread.

Thank you for the bump and the suggestions.
The first suggestion is something I already did on Monday night, with version 1.2 (mentioned here). If you're running an older version then install it again to upgrade to 1.2. If you're already on 1.2 and you're getting links hidden then please let me know, because then it means there's a bug for me to fix.
Your second suggestion is a very good one - I'll get that done this evening.

Suddenly there're so many userscripts
BTW can we have a settings page?

I made a user script for Firefox which removes all simple "thank yous" in each page of comments for giveaways and replaces them all with one single comment mentioning everyone who said thanks. This keeps the other comments from being drowned out but still lets you see everyone who thanked.
Comments like "Thanks", "Thank you", "thx", "ty" and other common variations are filtered out and moved to a "thanks summary" above the comments. Comments with a personal touch, such as "Thanks, Joe", are not filtered out; neither are any comments which have replies or contain links.
This is probably not everyone's cup of tea, but I hope that some of you will find it useful.
To Install
Update (5 October 2013): It seems that Chrome isn't as happy running userscripts as it used to be, so I'm removing the link to the native Chrome userscript and recommending Tampermonkey, an extension that allows Chrome to use regular Greasemonkey scripts.
Update (26 April 2012): The latest version is now 1.3
To update, simply go to the relevent page and press the big green "Install" button - the update process is exactly the same as for installing the script in the first place.
