Battlefield 2 with MP free (no steam)

The game is dead anyway , not sold anymore on steam and i think not even in origin.

Does it have any single player campaign? I tried to search for this info, but without success.

Battlefield 2 was awesome. If they're not selling it, not supporting it, and aren't hosting their own servers, I don't see why such a project should cause any issues.

If by 'legit' you mean officially supported by EA/DICE, then no. However it's not uncommon for people to set up unofficial servers to ressurect dead multiplayer games. Judging from a brief glance at the FAQ and troubleshooting section, it looks it's a legit ressurection attempt (talking about directX 9c issues, for example). It might be worth a look into, but expect the community to be small and tightly knit, and to do a whole bunch of adjusting before it works for you. Always google into it at more depth to make sure there are no problems with trojans, and never use your official login details with things like steam just in case. Barring that, might be worth a shot.

Though for the time being I'm more interested in trying a private PSOBB server. The original PSO was strangely addictive even with all that grind, and never got a chance to try the next one

Legit? you mean legal? official? no! legit not fake or not scam? yes! it works! i've played it before and it has players and servers. Basically since Gamespy servers are shutdown so bunch of guys which are not connected with EA or DICE built this system to keep playing BF2.

I have it installed, and yes it is legit, it does work and i dont have any virusses :) you can also use it to install mods. Go ahead and give it a try!
