It's different for each single person ;) Some just want to boost their contributor value, some are just genuine, some are in groups that require yu to make giveaways to enter others users giveaways, some like to create puzzles, some just want to have some fun, and most just a little bit of any of the reasons above ^^

My reasons involve a group of people on another site I use. There are often forum giveaways there, and the number of games I won there was honestly quite excessive compared to other people entering. However, I didn't have the ability to do any giveaways myself at the time, being without an method to make purchases. Later, I found this site and won a few games.
Then, I found a gift card I could purchase to make Steam purchases, so I stocked up, bought some stuff and started giving away. Thanks to the generosity of others, I have so many great games, and now I want to spread that.
