What are the rules on calling out people. Like if we see someone being a twat can we post a screenshot of it?

Edit #1: Right so what it is, is a person who won something here and is now trying to get rid of it on steamgifts. So I don't think there is a report that will work right?

Edit #2: Well since I didn't get an answer, I sent the screenshot to the mods through support. What it contains though is a guy who won the guns of icarous online giveaway and was trying to sell it on steamtrades for paypal lol

Read the FAQ. Support ticket with links, report user with links... etc...

Not sure if this is the same thing, but I actually appreciate when users call Shenanigans on a beta, fake or suspected fake giveaways. Helps me save my points.

Same, like when they check the user's inventory or wishlist etc.

It is the same thing, and it's a bannable offense, and with good reason. There are often other circumstances which the average user is not privy to, and people being rude and hateful to contributors and possibly driving them away could be the death of the whole site. That's why if you have suspicions, you're supposed to just hit the report button on a giveaway and move along. File a support ticket about it if you really must, but let the staff handle it. Stop driving away gifters because you're worried about the precious points which you also got from them. I'm not singling you two out. I'm just trying to explain why the policy exists.

Because I haven't asked to be, for starters. I've thought about it. I'd feel like I couldn't rage at random people on the forum as much, like I'd have to maintain a certain level of professionalism, and I kinda like being able to blow off steam here when I see someone being an asshat or even if I just wake up on the wrong side of the bed. Still, I dunno. Maybe.

I generally don't actually report people to Support because I don't know the full circumstances. But given how slow others say Support can be, I still appreciate the warnings. Also, the gifter has ample time to respond to those comments, which I've seen in a couple of cases.

Yeah this cause I'm lazy and cant be bothered to do it myself. The first warning sign for me is if the first comment has been hijacked, the second is if they all called fake. Thats it.

You can as long as you edit out the name of the person I'm assuming.

Go to user profile, click report, do not call out.

Actually, reports from user profiles aren't available to the support staff yet. Only the admin can see them until they are, and he's generally too busy with other things (like all the coding for the whole site) to deal with it in a timely fashion. If you want it taken care of in a reasonable time frame, file a support ticket instead.

The rules state that if you have to call someone out you have to host a party and invite all their friends but not them.
It's an old rule from a simpler time, it has served us well however.

The rules are simple. Don't.

It always amuses when people call out others by going "you're doing ____ and that's against the rules and I'm going to report you and blah blah blah!" Calling people out is just as against the rules but apparently it's okay to pick and choose which rules people have to follow.

Oh hypocrites, you so funny.

Anyhow, as has been stated, if someone did something they shouldn't, either report the user or the giveaway if it's breaking a rule. Calling people out is against the rules, someone else breaking a rule first doesn't magically make it okay.

Of course, it goes without saying that calling out people for calling out other people is equally reprehensible, so on and so forth :P
