Hey,i am getting a new pc soon, and probably the video card would be gtx 660.

and since i know nothing about video cards, i wanted to know what are the best graphic games it can run.

You could get HD 7950 / 7970 (3GB), since AMD has just released the new R9 series and the previous cards are getting cheaper.

Also I think AMD will be better for the future, because next gen is using AMD hardware.

As far as I know the R7 and R9 series cards are just rebranded old cards with a couple of new features. Only R9 290X is based on a new architecture.

actually its R9 series that is rebranded and even if it is, its still cheaper...at least at my retailer

What is your price range?
I just bought a MSI GTX 770 Gaming 3 minutes ago, but i was looking at a HD 7970 as a cheaper option. Not sure if you should go for the gtx 600 series, the 700 series are their updated versions for about the same money. And dont go for the 4gb versions, they dont offer much more for the extra money atm.

Then save some more money and get a good one that will last til the end of next gen, and playing the games at acceptable level.

If for a reasonable price, GTX660 is okay indeed. Best get a MSI or EVGA for best performance I'd say. I know ASUS can be quite noisy on the fans (have GTX460 in SLI, one ASUS, one EVGA and the ASUS gets REAL LOUD when it starts venting heat)

I currently own a gtx 660 and it can pretty much run everything at ultra

it can run all the current modern games without lag(except if you are playing games like crysis at ultra.)

If you're going to get a GTX 660, you should get a TI version. The TI version is better and doesn't cost much extra.

I have an MSI GTX 660 twin frozr III OC edition, I can max BF3 without problems, I haven't tried Crysis 3 or BF4 but I assume I can play them on high but not max.
