Hey! I've been playing Indiegala's Feudalife challanges, that give random steam keys. Mostly no-name titles, the occasional invalid key, and duplicate keys, and the point of this post, keys for DLCs of games, where I can't find out what the base game is. Tried activating it, I'm told to get the base game first, but steam doesn't tell me what that is. See if anyone has some luck with it: https://ibb.co/qYF0jyg
Out of curiosity, if it works out for someone, please let me know what the base game is :)

First one: Axis Game Factory's AGFPRO Zombie FPS Player - DLC
Second one: Crazy Machines 2 - Jewel Digger DLC

I don't have base games, so I don't know if the codes work or not :)

you can install the Steamdb extension for Firefox (or other browser you use) and log into your Steam account on the browser, go to https://store.steampowered.com/account/registerkey and when you put in the key, the Steamdb extension will tell you what game the DLC is for even if you don't own the base game

If you don't want to install the Steamdb extension you can also press F12 before trying to activate. Click on the new 'ajaxregisterkey' entry that shows up after the activation attempt in the Network tab and then click on the Response tab. You'll be able to read the package id and name there.

What PaganFears said, explained here (I always keep it at hand, even now that I've installed the SteamDB Extension a while ago):
