Ok, some months ago i made a thread called IM DISTURBED and i that thread i was talking about Elfen Lied.

Today i saw Another (Like Elfen Lied, all episodes in the same day) and i got disturbed, again.

The anime is about a class several children who die slowly. This class has a curse that began 26 years ago with the death of one "Misaki".

The deaths of the characters are, how to say ?, explanatory, you see how they die in a very tragic way and to even feel that you're a real witness.

In addition, the anime very confusing. Also that the end leaves you thinking long and leaves you feeling bad, knowing the cruel truth and remembering how many characters died very violent ways.

I have to stop seeing disturbing anime

Sorry if i have bad english.

In the end I didn't see the big deal about Elfen Lied. It was genuinely very good, but not mind-blowing or anything. Another wasn't perfect, either, but it had a lot more atmosphere. If you want something more disturbing than either of those, try Shiki - that one's a winner.

Another would have been a lot better if they hadn't tried shoving the horror down your throat every ten seconds.

I'd say it's an average anime. The plot is decent but there nothing that would make you go WOW, what did just happen
You can give a shot to Mirai Nikki as well (if you have not seen it yet)

Yes, I agree. Mirai Nikki is in the same category but way better (in my opinion).

I just finished watching Elfen Lied just now. Literally.
Personally, I thought it was good, but a bit disappointing. It was lacking a lot for some reason, it ended without giving me the satisfaction I get from watching some other stuff.

As for Another, it was okay I guess, but it felt a bit forced. "Someone died an awful way, oh my god." Moving on. "Oh look, someone else just died a gruesome way. Yay." Next episode. "Oh my god, stop just killing characters and give me some story for fuck sake."

Anyways, I enjoy these kind of anime regardless. I'm currently trying to find something new to watch (not necessarily a thriller/disturbing one).

I'd suggest you Kaiji, Claymore, Berserk and maybe Gungrave. All of them were pretty good in my opinion
I especially enjoyed Kaiji 1 & 2

What can you tell me about that animes?

  • Kaiji is about gambling. Storywise it's awesome, the only thing I didn't quite like in the anime was the animation. It's not that it is
bad, it's just kinda strange (if you watch it you'll understand what I mean)
  • Gungrave is about 2 friends who were street thugs and one day join the Mafia. You see how 2 different people in the same
    place act in different ways
  • About Claymore and Berserk they are both about fighting. The first one has a woman main character who fights against
some creatures. As for Berserk, it's kinda war style anime, can't quite describe it

I watches all of the above and I highly recommend them. At least I wasn't disappointed in any of those

I had begun watching Claymore, but it kinda bored me so I dropped it. I might try it again some time.

Well everything depends on the person and the style/type of anime that he likes. I for example enjoyed Death Note so much that I can't see another anime taking it's place as my favorite. Some may hated it it's opinions you know :)
Another anime I can highly recommend is definitely Code Geass, it's just awesome :D

Code Geass is a definitive favorite among mine. My favorite anime is Steins;Gate, if that can help you determine what kind of stuff I like. :P

I looked into Death Note a while ago, but it didn't exactly look like the genre I'd enjoy, same with multiple popular anime. However, I disliked Sword Art Online quite a bit when I first watched the first and second episode, and I dropped it not thinking that I would ever watch it again... But then, yesterday I decided to give it another try. It actually seems better than the first time I watched it for some reason.

The point is that perhaps I should try getting back into anime I've dropped in the past. I might enjoy them now. :P

I've stopped watching anime for a year now or so. I got extremely bored of them because I couldn't find those special ones that I would enjoy a lot. Steins;Gate it's a good one it just lacked something extra that would made me lose my shit :D
As for SAO, it had a great potential to be one of the top anime by far, but it didn't go as everyone expected. If you give it a try and you end up liking it, you can also watch Log Horizon which is kinda similar

U could consider reading manga wich is basically the visual book form of the anime's but usually more graphic and more indepth i started when i couldnt find any good violent anime's anymore ;p

I can't stand manga at all. It depends of course on the writer but, the most of them are awful.
Especially manga with fighting e.g One Piece, Bleach etc are impossible to read. You can barely understand what happens
in the fights. Also I don't like that they have no color, if they did they would rock

Maybe you should stop watch these creepy animes. I even don't watch most of them because I fear to get disturbed xD I've never seen an horror movie for the same reason(or from that moment on I would strike everything that moves because of the fear).

The thing about Elfen Lied is that it establishes early on that it is all about melodramatic gorn and torturous dismemberment combat. This alone desensitises you to the overall subject, as you expect it. The tragedies reveal themselves long before there is any hint of what will happen, because you can already guess. That guy? Probably a molester. That girl? Probably gonna get butchered. That kid? Probably gonna get maimed. That notable character over there? Probably gonna reveal an overdriven sob-story, etc. I mean, don't get me wrong. Elfen Lied is depressing as hell, but it's also notorious and old. You often go in to each episode knowing what to expect.

You should look into Narutaru. Nowhere near as much gore or graphic detail, but creepier in the fact that it's true themes sneak up on you. Plus it has a (deceptively upbeat opening theme that is totally unsuiting)[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SIF5BLyh3Mk]. The best time to slap someone with truly creepy / disturbing stuff, is when they don't see it coming, and when the viewers are more invested in the character. A few animes and sudden fingernail-pulling torture scenes come to mind. Eeeegh.

Regarding Narutaru though, be warned that the anime was made before the manga was finished, so it never fully concludes (even if it goes out at the resolution of a piece of story). The manga is apparently even worse for being disturbing.

+1 to mirai nikki. 1 that is rated less in my opinion is Chaos Head

although the manga is far superior and way more in depth than the anime u could consider Gantz

if u want to see an Anime in the style of bakemonogatari wich the M.C get shot in the ass with a gun i suggest Mindgame

and if u liked the japanese classic Battle royale than u could check out Btooom

the super secret Disney movie playlist not anime but disturbing nonetheless lol
