Groups on SG

So apparently most Steam groups have a "profile" here, on SG. However it seems they're hidden and without a direct link you can't get to it and either I'm complete idiot or you can't find it anywhere expect for groups you are part of. May it be possible to make them more... accessible ? For example I'd love to check some groups in order to find which are active and which are not when it comes to giveaways and I can't do that. Unless I can and coming back to my previous point, I'm an idiot.

You can.

Steps:

  1. Click your "Account" button (top right)
  2. Sync to ensure your groups are up to date.
  3. look at the lower left corner for "Groups"

Yes but I can only see the groups I'm part of. I meant the ones I have no access to. For example, I'm looking for some private giveaway group and I wanted to see if they are just scamming new members or are they legit.

You can't. Gotta be a member first (you can't make a group GA before you are accepted anyway, so you can't get fooled that way)

if you want to get invited to group..ask some member of the group to give you link. then you can check giveaways of that group. most group recruitment thread post that link in the description for bragging/transparency though

I remember this issue having been brought up a couple times already, where the people who like it the way it is currently saying that private groups will be pestered by requests to join (or something like that)

I personally don't care too much, since I don't do private groups, and should I join one I can always check before creating a GA of my own.
